Probably won't be around for the show
Edited on Mon Jun-26-06 04:07 PM by CC
again, sigh. Now that my net seems to be working we are inundated with rain. We have had some very wicked and violent storms with buckets of rain. My power has been on more than off thankfully since the sump pump in the basement has been working overtime. When the news says the Eastern Shore of Maryland is flooding that would be my home territory. Luckily we some how ended up with a house on the highest point in this county and the closest river is a mile down the street so we don't have to worry about the first floor. The downside is I have a 130 plus year old house whose basement gets wet whenever the ground gets over saturated. I have been unplugging everything while it storms since the power has been cutting off every once in a while. Besides the thunder was so strong at times that the whole house was shuddering. Glad I find it fun instead of scary and have dogs that are not afraid of it. The rest of the animals could care less either.

Also wonder if anyone has heard anything from seito? I know she hasn't been on much in the last few months but I know her county has been hit hard in places too. So seito, if you are reading without typing, please pm me or someone to let us know how you are doing.

Congrats on the puppy Bot but post pictures already would ya?

Rev leave a Binky update please, I have been checking when I could.

Hopefully the electric will be on at 8 pm, lightening or not I will have to tv on.

1. Stay as dry as you can
and I hope you keep power, as the ferrets wouldn't like the heat very much if you lost A/C for too long. Ah, the joys of summer...

2. Hi CC and the soggy critters!
Binky's doing better. Spent yesterday playing vet-nurse, making sure she was OK. She gets 100 cc's of fluid under the skin every day, plus drops for infection, and stuff to boost her kidney output. I don't know what it all is. All I do is give squirts of droppers in her mouth twice a day, and fluids once a day. The #1 directive is "get her to eat as much as you can."

Glad to know your critters aren't intimidated! :)
Keeping y'all in my prayers, just in case.

3. I saw that on the thread and
stopped reading to say great though really should be a :bounce::bounce:

The animals are fine and dry, it is only the basement that gets wet and well in somethings I am married to an idiot and right now that is about the nicest word for I have for him. (don't leave dirt and wood shavings on the floor to clog the sump pump when you KNOW we are going to need it to work) Back to the basement for me since it is making funny moises again.

4. Oh-oh.
Sounds like Terry is gonna sleep outside when he gets home!
Give him one of these: :spank:, then tell him he needs to take you out to dinner!

5. Well just finished sweeping as much water
out of the basement as I could around Ter's junk. My mean thing to do was when he said "What the f' and I suppose to do I'm driving a truck!" I said feel guilty if you get home and I am electrocuted in the basement. Yep I was/am that mad at him. This is ongoing and takes mean talk to get it fixed. Beside I really really do not like having to unplug the sump pump while standing in 6 inches of water. :scared:
But really came back to tell you his cat is also mad at him and that Karma kitty does not like me going into a wet basement. So now he follows me and yowls the whole time I am down there, and stands in the 6 inches of water trying to get me to come up stairs. So tomorrow I'll tell the man he can feel guilty if he find both me and Karma when he gets home. I also told him HE was cleaning it out if he has to stay up all night Thursday and Friday cause I was finally sleeping more than an hour. I would take a pic of Karma in water but well too busy saving the furnace and like my camera working. Figure you will see this in the morning so give Binky a good morning ear rub from me and the crew, and some turkey.

Karma because he braved yucky water to keep me company. He sends a meow to Binky too.
