During the Clinton Chronicles, was the media bending over backwards
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 05:11 PM by SoCalDem
to point out the republican similarities of the "scandal du jour"?. If they were, it must have escaped me.,

These days, with ALL the crappola pouring forth from the *² administration, NOTHING gets discussed without a mention (usually FIRST) of how many Dems have been implicated in the scandal, or which Dems are actually supporting the pres (Joementum and some others).

Has FAIR or any other organization looked into this? If they have, I must have missed it.

The CPAN thing today about Abramoff is a prime example.. Ole Brian had a pre-prepared placard with the names of Democratic "receivers" of Abramoff's largesse..in CAPS and writ large..

The reporter wanted to talk about Abramoff and the republicans, but FIRST they had to discuss the democratic officials who had gotten money..:puke:

The Monica thing was not the first attack on Clinton. The many that preceded it were just the run-up to the main event.

2. Brian Lamb always slants Fascist Fridays for BushInc. It's his job
to minimize any GOP crime against the constitution and maximimize any Dem parking ticket/blow job till they're viewed equally.

3. The impeachment of Clinton
Was the culmination of six long years of political attacks. The Republicans spent more time & more money trying to create a scandal then they've ever spent on how & why 3000 Americans had to die on 9-11-2001 or how & why 10,000 Americans had to die 8-29-2005.

The fact is, they couldn't hang ANYTHING else on him 'cept a craven little lie about a blowjob.

5. They started in on Clinton while he was campaigning in '92 and kept
at it through his 2 terms. The RWers accused him of everything from running a drug cartel to murder to rape and then some. Never mind that there was not a shred of evidence to back these claims, they said it anyway and it was splashed all over the mainstream media in all its despicable glory. It was a sick and disgusting display made so much worse by the media joining in on it.

This myth about a liberal media is utter bullshit. What you saw today is a prime example of their whoredom. I have complete disdain for all of the sell-out shills who have the audacity to call themselves journalists.

7. Very well put.
You have summed up the death of journalism nicely.

9. Thank you. Its sad, isn't it, what our media has come to?
The US places such a high value on a free and independent press but the members of the media make a complete mockery of it.

10. Yep
I watched the documentary "The Hunting of the President" (if you don't have it buy it!) and one part it shows Jerry Falwell and he confesses that he didn't know if the people told him the truth or not about Clinton. It goes to show you how much hate he had for Clinton. He didn't give a damn about the truth (Matthew 5:37) or what he was doing to him. Oh and also about the "liberal media" go to http://www.informationclearinghouse.info and watch these two films: The Myth of the Liberal Media and Orwell Rolls in His Grave.

12. How in the world did Falwell get away with his Clinton bashing and yet
maintain his tax-exempt status as a church? That is a question that has been bugging the hell out of me all these years. I remember him peddling some video tape on his show that accused the Clintons of all sorts of crimes years ago.

I saw 'The Hunting of the President' recently and it dragged up all the rage and frustration I felt throughout Clinton's presidency. That should be broadcast on prime time so everyone can see the slimeball tactics that were used against the Clintons. I have 'Orwell Rolls in Grave' but haven't seen 'The Myth of the Liberal Media' - I'm going to check that out. Thanks for the heads up on that one!

6. only Larry Flint
IIRC, he was one of the few who made a concerted effort to point out that republicans leaders of the impeachment had their own sex scandals.

8. I knew we would get payback from last friday.
Last friday's show was very surprising. Brian had three guests journalists on for two hours and all three appeared to be anti Bush. It wasn't the usual "fascist friday" as some of you put it.

11. Keith Olberman had to quit his job because the CM
forced him to cover Monica every day.

Keith wanted to spend a little time covering a guy called Osama Bin Laden, but nobody ever heard of this Bin Laden character, so they went with Monica.

That's a true story.
