Hillary's Postcards To Chertoff
Clinton, GOP Congressman to Chertoff: 'Wish you were here'

RAW STORY
Published: Thursday June 1, 2006

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) and Congressman Peter T. King (R-NY), Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, are responding to a Department of Homeland Security claim that New York City has no "national landmarks and icons" by sending DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff postcards of famous New York sights, RAW STORY has learned.

2. Say, wasn't that the bridge the terrorists wanted to take down?
With a blowtorch? As I recall, it was a great coup for the intelligence agencies.

I guess they changed their minds and are now releasing the evildoer.

We here at DU laughed at the absurdity that someone could be fooled by that.

Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 07:48 PM by mike_c
When I first saw that reply, it didn't have the disclaimer at the bottom (in parentheses). I clicked on reply to ask whether the poster knew the photo was faked and got a reply box with the parenthetic statement, wondered how I'd missed it, then clicked the back button. Statement gone. Clicked reply, the disclaimer appeared. Clicked back, it disappeared. Very freaky.

I thought the disclaimer was somehow encoded to appear only when I clicked the reply button! LOL. Now I realize that he must have edited the post to add the disclaimer, and I was simply loading the the original version from my cache. It was a really cool effect, though!

6. Great idea!
But they would have been even better if they addressed them "Dear Creepy little Fuckhead..."

And ended them with "nice try, but we're on 'ta youse guys."

Don't fucking mess with NY. Right-Wingers may enjoy crapping on New York, but they sure like to enjoy the free nature of sexual congress when visiting.

Everything from Bolton and Plato's Retreat, to RW business clowns and conventioneers showing up with puds out and wallets open.

Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 09:51 PM by Steve_DeShazer

May I ask NYers and others why they put any stock in this? I'm just some dumbass from the West, but why does a Hillary coupling with the guy who voted as follows become cause for celebration?

Edited on Fri Jun-02-06 03:53 PM by FlaGranny
or just King's? I don't like Hillary's every vote, but come on, it's "coupling" to get together to complain about something that just about everyone thinks is wrong? You don't need to be in bed with someone to agree one one subject. Are you one of the DUers who believes that one transgression forever disqualifies?

Edit: Okay, maybe she's guilty of more than one transgression. Still it's hard to discount her action because she partnered in it with a repuke.

but .1% of the time he is right. As when he voted "No" for Clinton's Impeachment, this is another instance where he is correct.

43. Finding common ground = Good
He may have voted for tons of things that progressives don't agree on; but to refuse to work together when you have a goal in common would help no one. This is one of Hillary's best traits in my opinion: Finding a utilizing common ground with even a guy like Pete King.

32. So New York has only four landmarks?
Wait, so how many landmarks are there in the mid-west states that got their money?
It looks to me that actually the money is now being split up based on how many registered voters are republican. By and large red states got the biggest increase in DHS funds than any others.

35. Trust the Bush Administration . . .
They know better than anyone where and where not the next terrorist attack(s) will occur.

Don't you know that?

Buildings will magically fall out of the air.
Planes will magically vaporize after going through 6 layers of re-enforced concrete.
It's amazing!

This is not about terrorism.
It never was.
Come on guys -- why aren't we focused on asking the question "How did a fire bring down a skyscraper?!"

Had Monkeyboy NOT been asleep at the switch from his selection until the 11th of September, slashing FBI funding and thumbing through books about pet friken goats, NYC would probably have TWO more icons (the WTC towers), and PA would have one less (the crash site memorial).

But hey, need the money elsewhere, gotta protect Wyoming...after all, heheh, Dick has his spread there!

46. i've seen republican rep peter king bitching and moaning about
the funding that got cut--(he's the one on that little infamous video talking about how the election was already over as of the summer of 2004--saying the repukes already won, all that's left is to count the votes and "we'll take care of that" or some such shit)

i look at it like he's guilty as sin -- completely complicit in the stolen election -- and now he expects those dirty bastards to play fair? why? just because he helped them steal the election?

what an ass!
