More on the upcoming War in Iran
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4031603.stm

Q&A: Iran nuclear stand-off
The United States offered on 31 May to join direct talks with Iran about its nuclear programme. On 1 June, the US, Russia, China and three EU countries agreed on a package of incentives to encourage Iran to join the talks. The UN nuclear watchdog the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had reported on 28 April that Iran had not complied with a Security Council demand that it suspend uranium enrichment. The US, UK and France have proposed a new Security Council resolution ordering Iran to comply. The BBC News website looks at the issues involved.

What is the US offer?

The US offer is to join talks with Iran, currently led by three EU countries, Britain, France and Germany, but on condition that Iran suspend the enrichment and reprocessing of uranium. The US says that Iran must also reinstate the surprise inspections it had earlier agreed with the IAEA.

What has the Iranian response been?

Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has responded initially by saying that Iran will not "give up" its "natural right" to enrichment and that there will be "no talks over it". However he offered talks over issues of "mutual concern".

Is this a major shift of US policy?

It is being interpreted as such because the US has avoided direct public talks with Iran since the Islamic revolution in 1979, in which US embassy hostages were held for a year. It is seen as a way of Washington trying to get back the initiative in a diplomatic situation that had got bogged down

1.  **Please sign this petition against military actin against Iran**

It is with grave concern that I observe the growing threat of a new U.S. war--this time against the people of Iran.

For a collection of articles and resources on this subject you can visit this link: http://reseaudesign.com/research/iran/iran_summery.html

I'm starting up a petition which I will be sending out to as many members of Congress as possible. I'm asking for help to get this signed by as many people, possible in the next month. Send it to as many people you can.

4. I'm not in favor of raining on anyone's parade and that is not my intent
here, but they are not listening to us. A petition is not going to help this. I will sign but, I'm just saying, sure sounds like Iraq drumbeat to me.

2. Wouldn't it be fabulous if...
Iran agreed to stop enrichment.

What would the PNACers do? They wouldn't have an imminent war, now would they?

If the Iranian leader reallllly wants to piss off Bush and the rest of the thugs--then
he'll do everything that they ask.

(A girl can dream, can't she?)

3. Yes she can, but it's not going to actually help stop the war.

5. What do you suggest?
I often wonder if the Iranian leader isn't teamed up with the PNACers.

They wanted Iran next, and now they have the Iranian leader playing into their hands.

Ok, I'm dreaming again. Sorry.

Seriously though...what do you suggest I do. I know I'm not a powerless person, but
I feel powerless to stop these thugs.

10. Because they don't care what you, or anyone else thinks...
They are going to invade Iran, and that's that. Get used to the idea.

11. Well, then we have many dark days in our future...
...and I'm thinking that Iceland is looking like a nice place to take
an extended vacation.
