I am awake and cant go back to sleep. I am channel surfing and found this ugly ass imus on the TV. He not only is ugly, he looks unkept. I can smell him from here!

And his staff is unkept also. Is this their mode of operation?

Hans Blix is on and making his usual good sense.

2. Yah, you betcha!
By comparison, Hans Blix is a gorgeous super model to lay eyes on ... well, that's only if they weren't initially *burnt out of their sockets* by gazing upon Imus - The Ancient Dried-Up Media Shill. :P

17. Really hateful attitude towards women
I caught a few minutes a couple of weeks ago when Povitch was being accused of sexual harassment and the comments from Imus and his crew were truly disgusting. "Why are the women who make these accusations always such skanks?" And more.
His show is a very ugly picture of America. A dried out dessicated insect husk of a man spewing hate.
Who watches this? And why?

21. my otherwise quite sensible mother used to
she said it was merely "for the interviews" (is this kind of like picking up Playboy for the articles?) and that Imus let his guests speak (more) uninterrupted (than most).

Frankly the man sets me teeth on edge; Imus and his little pack of hench-ophants rowing him down the river Ego each and every morning.

And on and on and on about the damn ranch and the damn salsa and the whole damn family. The show is like a telethon for him. Yeah the hat! The hat! It's like when a well-meaning nursing home aide sets a novelty hat atop some poor shrunken, wheelchair bound senior.

Perhaps I'm still pissed about the response I got from the Imus show after sending out mass emailings during the 04 election debacle. Lovely half-literate reply about sticking something "where the sun don't shine."

Who gave the dick from high school his own show?

22. The main stream media is now a carnival
and the freakier you are, the more apt you are to get air time. Enter venom-toothed Ann Coulter. Amazinlgy inaccurate Bill O'Reilly. And all ego Sean Hannity.
No more Chancellor or Cronkite. Reasoner or Brinkley.

3. Ugly AND stupid.......
a combination that's hard to beat. The many, many years of drug and alcohol abuse have eroded Imus' brain. He shares that history with our current pResident. Perhaps that's why they think alike?

in the universe for high school losers. Every single one of the people that program have giant Ls on their foreheads. They sit around miserably sniping at others just like they did in the corridors of high school.

8. Inside and out
& we should have a Dem meme going: That ANYBODY who guests on sL-IMUS is automatically ruled out as a political candidate for any office---------and that means DODD, KERRY, Harold FORD, OBAMA, LIEBERMAN, not to mention all the Repukes for being Repukes on top of this.

And whatever good he might do with the charity is separate and apart, comparmentalized over by itself: He is one detestable and repulsive specimen.

10. That Hat He Wears Is Stoopid Too
...and you can tell he thinks he looks so cool in it. I hate to make shallow comments on looks, but in the case of Imus, it goes with his whole pompous facade. IMO he is the epitome of an empty idiot and I don't watch him.

My 2 cents

11. Imus is an arrogant hypocrite ---who has mastered the con
He attacks Al Gore for his environmental stand and movie while at the same time hawking his wife's, environmental friendly cleaning products. He gives his spiel on the illness' of all the children attending his Imus Ranch in New Mexico as being a result of environmental pollution and asks listeners to buy the cleaning products to support the ranch.....his vacation home, away from his city high-rise, and his suburb mansion. While Al Gore has been talking and supporting environmental issues throughout his career, Imus only recently discovered the problem???

15. Hat is reminiscent of the phony cowboy hats they gave boys in the 50's
But then, this administration and its cheerleaders have really driven the last stake through the childhood memories some of us have of the 50's--I was a toddler, trying to keep up with the big kids in games of "Cops an' Robbers", as we ran after "the bad guys"... or I was watching some shoot-'em-up black and white western where the "good guys" rode after the "bad guys", who were "wanted, dead or alive".

The man is nauseating in every sense of the word. Why he is shown on TV is a mystery to me. He has a face made for radio.

16. He is actually a cadaver that gives the appearance of being
alive by all of the maggots that are wiggling across his brain dead carcass. Really. The man exists as a host for maggots, nothing more, nothing less. He should be avoided at all costs.

Anybody who thinks Santorum, Russert, McCain are good and decent people are beyond the pale. He regularly calls Hillary "Satan" and then giggles like a three-year old saying dirty words to his playground buddies.

And about his charity - do good and shut up, people who have to remind other people on a daily basis how "honorable" he is by taking in sick children is doing it for all the wrong reasons. He has a bugle surgically implanted into his own ass so he can toot his own horn with a minimum of effort.

I put Imus on the level of O'Lielly - all ass, no brain.

25. A cadaver... oh... yes, you mean, like Dick Cheney, right?
Yes, I had never heard Don Imus until I began to see him sometimes on MSNBC (?) in the mornings.

"He has a bugle surgically implanted into his own ass so he can toot his own horn with a minimum of effort."
That about sums it up! And therein lies the key similarity of Imus and Bill O'Pervert.

19. "A face that's made for Radio".....
Yeah, it's shallow to judge somebody on their looks.

But the lines in his face show his soul. Plenty of people older than he look far better.

23. The thing I find fascinating about this thread, and,
I must admit, a trifle disconcerting, is the fact that it is dealing with the ugliness of allowing one's pre-conceived notions and prejudicial attitudes to come leaking out. All the nastiness that bubbles up and and reveals the narrowness of his thinking and limited ability to, at least, make the attempt to override that xenophobia and actually clean the world up a little, instead of stinking it up.

And here comes the disconcerting part: in nearly every response, criticizing those execrable attitudes, the authors reveal the exact same attitudes. while voicing a general frustration with Imus. The harsh, bitter words are indistinguishable, only the subject varies.

If we really want to know how such nastiness can exist in the minds of those we are ragging on, I would suggest a look in the mirror might prove productive.

26. It's anger
Yes, he makes me angry, and as a result, I feel driven to criticize the man. Verbal attacks are useful in that they allow people to vent anger without resorting to any sort of physical attack. I think that's one of the main advantages of having free speech enshrined in law. (Too bad that shrine has been allowed to fall into disrepair.)

If the man did not constantly reveal--no, not just "reveal", but FLAUNT-- his ugly psyche with his nasty words, I am sure no one here would be impolite enough to criticize his appearance. His viciousness breeds anger; anger leads to lack of politeness.

When you go on TeeVee to make money, it's a risk you take.
