2 sisters w/cancer...me? no health insurance to get tested. Thx *!!
I noticed a few people today, thanking the asshole in the W.H. for what they don't have these days. I'm an optimist and normally would say "look at what you have, not what you don't" but I can't justify that statement anymore.

My 55 yr old sister is now in the radiation treatment of her stage 3 uterine cancer (discovered last November), now my 57 yr old sister was just diagnosed with uterine cancer, but fortunately hers' is only stage 1. I'm 51, and getting a little worried for me and my other sister - half of us girls with cancer...not a good percentage. Hub and I discussed it last night and he's going to work OT so I can go get the proper tests I need. We're not poor, but having no insurance really SUCKS! We're still paying on an ER bill when hub sliced open his thumb 3 months ago (the bills came to over a grand!)

So, I just want to thank Mr. Dickhead war monger, corporate business whore, money hungry/oil rich, dry drunk bastard for paying big business to outsource all the good PERMANENT manufacturing jobs, WITH HEALTH CARE, that my hub can't get anymore. I keep suggesting that I go back to work, but hub's being a good man and says there's no need.

Whew!!....sorry for the  but I needed that!

1. Here's a link you might find helpful
http://www.healthynj.org/dis-con/uterine/nj.htm

You might want to call the Cancer Society and find out if they have any resources that could help you...either reduced-cost testing, or payment plan, or something of that nature.

Don't put this off--it's something that, if caught early, can have a favorable outcome, but if you wait, it could be problematic. Best of luck.

5. Thx MADem.
I already called my local American Cancer Society and unfortunately, hub makes too much money to qualify for reduced cost.

It sucks, but I won't put off the test. The three of us have already called our 4th sister to get tested too. It's rather odd, as no one else in our family has had uterine cancer.

Thx for the support - I'll get through this for sure!

2. No need to apologize, a lot of people feel the way you do.
Your husband sounds like a really great guy. Go get tested, and I hope everything comes out OK for you.

Bush has made the lives of so many Americans a hardship because of his actions. He'll go to hell for what he's done, if that's any consolation.

6. Hub is a great guy AndyA.
Thx for the support 'cause so many of us need it these days. I'm almost counting the minutes until this selfish person is no longer in power.

I hope he does go to hell....a hell with no alcohol or drugs to help him get away from his own misery!!

3. jojo54, I'm sorry to hear about your sisters.
I hope your tests come out okay, and I feel your anger and frustration at this admin. There are manny regular Americans in the same boat. We need to throw these money hungry warmongers out!
Here's a hug:

7. Thanks for the hub babylonsister.
That's a very nice gesture. I'm pretty sure my test will be show no problems, and I'm really not worried. It just makes me think, what if there was some sort of catatrophic event occuring with my husband or me? THAT'S what scares me.

4. In this case you're allowed a good rant session and there's no............
....need for an apology either. As for the tests you need - I would suggest you try your local social services to see if you can qualify for even the slightest discount on medical insurance. It seems to me someone out there should be smart enough to figure out it would be much cheaper to check now than treat later.

I wish you all the good luck in the world and will be keeping you in my thoughts.

11. try Planned Parenthood!
Their services include more than just birth control. They do lots of medical testing and often use a sliding scale for payments.

12. That's what I was thinking. Here's the number
For medical questions, or to schedule an appointment with the nearest Planned Parenthood health center, call toll-free 1-800-230-PLAN
or 1-800-230-7526.
