18. Especially check out the Ed Klein clip. That's when Al and Joe Conason
completely busted Klein, who wrote a slimejob book on Hillary Clinton.

10. Al is most likely going to run for the Senate in 2008
He wants to defeat Norm Coleman, who won the seat after the great Paul Wellstone was killed in a plane crash. Al was a friend of Paul's. So since the election is more than 2 years away, I don't think Al is doing anything illegal.

It was a politician in California, who they were talking about, who was married to wife #2 17 months before divorce to wife #1 was final....

I would like to see Al run...

21. C-SPAN Has Always Done This
C-SPAN reguarly goes into radio stations and carries local or national talk shows to give the viewer and inside look at the show. I was part of one of these many years ago, and it was a lot of fun. Our local show was beamed across the country and the phone lines went crazy...this was before the internet and we were blown away getting calls from Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Usually they do this during election years and, yes, the behind the scenes is the real fun in watching. You can see all the work that goes on during the commercial breaks and all the coordination that goes into the broadcast. As a student of radio, I taped Larry King doing a similar deal on election night 1984 and was a part of one of these broadcasts myself.

Depending on the response (downloads from the website), C-SPAN may do it again or carry another Air America show.

Some may remember, Sundance attempted to simulcast the Franken show several times when he was doing the show from New York, but it never did well. One major reason, on my front was the "first run" on my cable system was at 1:30am and Sundance is Channel 530 on my cable system...and I imagine I was one of the few who could get the program.

Radio people rarely do well on TV...it's like having a football player pitch...it's two seperate mediums...and, again, it's fun to watch when C-SPAN does this. Good bet is now they'll use carrying this bit to do a right wingnut show next week.

22. Actually, Al's Sundance show was popular enough to do TWO seasons.
It was on at 11:30PM here in NYC and then rerun at 1:30 and again in the morning. (And BTW, for those who never saw it on Sundance, it was an hour show, edited from the 3 hour broadcast, with added graphics, etc.)

23. Popular? I Never Saw Any Ratings
Also, never saw any commercials on the show other than Sundance promos. Those are the barometers on popularity. Had the show been that successful it would have been given a better time slot or another network would have picked it up. A good example was Politically Incorrect that ABC grabbed from Comedy Central.

On my cable system, we only got the Sundance West Channel...the west coast feed, thus the first run didn't come on until 1:30am Central Time. Also it was on the digital cable channels...two or three tiers above the basic service that made it even more difficult for people to see.

It was a good try by both Sundance and Air America to try to get the show on the air, but had it been successful, they would have continued the show. A similar deal happened to Rushbo with his attempt at TV in the early 90's...and that was in syndication...reaching over 90 percent of the country on over-the-air, free TV.

25. Sundance doesn't have commercials at all. At any time. For anything.
They only stopped doing it when Al moved his studio to Minnesota.

with that author of "what would the founders do?"

He was unprepared. He should have had some firepower if he was gonna have a guest like that on , on such an important date (cpan appearance)

Other than that it was good.
