Police State USA

This morning when I was driving into work I passed a police roadblock in Coral Gables.
They had one side of the road detoured onto a side street and a line of cars were backed up there.
They had signs out on the street that said Drivers License, Insurance and Registration Checkpoint.

They werent diverting traffic when I passed for some reason, line too long maybe?

What the fuck? How do they have the right to force people to stop and waste their time to PROVE they are legal drivers?

Where are your papers? Sounds familiar.
It was chilling to say the least.

I wish I had a camera and had gotten pictures or video of it.

..wrong to get pulled over...wasn't there a case that put paid to these illegal searches sometime ago...I can't recall but it had something to do with the sobriety checkpoints that get set up around holidays here in the States...and someone got pinched for something unrelated and took it to court and won....I think because they were stopping EVERYONE, and not those people that appeared to be under the influence...
