1. I thought he did a good job, making the point that using words like
"cold blooded" could imply guilt. He is representing a marine who says his group were on in Haditha on that day. He also said that the Marine Corp will punish those found quilty.
I missed what happened when he stood in for Ed Schultz, but this sounds reasonable to me.
but every time I've had the occasion to listen to Hackett, since his loss, I've been increasingly disappointed. He sounds more and more like the sort of devious triangulator that I have come to detest. I do hope I'm all wrong on this.
When he was running against Schmidt he was everyone's darling. Since then, he's become pretty much a loose cannon.
One thing, though ..... he owes us nothing. Judge him by the same standards you'd judge any private citizen. That's all he is. He just has a bigger soapbox than many of us.
5. While I totally agree, any time my little idols that I have put on
pedestals get crushed by reality, my soul takes a hit. I so much wish that even a few could live up to the standards that I feel democrats are capable of. That's why so many get married and then regret it, I suppose. Forgive the "soul" reference. I don't believe I have one but the sadness of the imagery fits.
