First Lady Says People Appreciate Families, Friends More

WASHINGTON -- First lady Laura Bush is seeing a lot of positive
changes in the
country, in the nearly two months since the terrorist attacks.

For one thing, she said, Americans are appreciating their
families and their friends

Speaking Thursday at the National Press Club, the first lady
said Americans are
keeping in touch by phone more than they used to.

She also said people who used to view their government with
cynicism now have a
new "appreciation and respect for public servants."

That the public servants do not have appreciation and respect for the American people. I am going this weekend to NYC to enjoy all the 'unworthy' landmarks according to the 'unworthy' Mr. Chertoff.

That bit about cynics suddenly appreciating and respecting government because of an attack is classic. I SO appreciate a government whose head sat in a classroom reading a book about goats for several minutes after the attack, then played Commando in his plane the rest of the day. And it only took a few thousand Americans dead to open my eyes. :eyes: Thanks for that turd especial, Madame Stepford, thanks a big, fricking steaming heap.
