OOOOKay...what the heck has happend to the code behind DU?
The last couple of days I have noticed DU pages displaying a strange (and annoying) behavior ... the text of the page appears, in some smaller, rather "typewriterish" font, then the page redraws, with the text replaced by something a little smoother. It's not awful, but to someone with bad eyesight (like me) it's one more thing I'd rather not have to deal with. Makes me squint every time before it clears up.

Also, in an older browser (Netscape 4.0.8, still running on my laptop) I get ... nothing. A blank white page.

Anyone else?

5. I've seen it too.
Safari browser on Mac OSX. I only saw it once, but when I refreshed the page it went back to normal.

6. Netscape 4?
I suppose that's better than Internet Explorer 5 but people like you are why I hate designing web pages. ;-)

7. I've seen some "redraw" behavior
myself from time-to-time on this site (and others). (I see various things in the initial draw, including source HTML.)

It does seem to be a little more prevalent recently.

But mine is an older computer (browser), and that (with slow page loading) is my working hypothesis for why I see it. (But not the only hypothesis.)

And I haven't turned off the Google ads to see if it'd make a difference.

(I ignore them easily enough. And rhetoric aside, it just ain't that big of a deal on my personal scale of things.)
