Sorry to offend any Franks fans out there, but I consider this guy to be one of the most disingenius yahoos of the entire Bush era.

I personally don't believe history is going to be very kind to "the Iraq War," or to its principals. And Franks especially.

The few memory cells they have cause them to remember the body counts the papers used to publish in Viet Nam. They think the constant body counts caused erosion of public support for the war. Thus, they try to suppress them now.

What they don't realize, of course, is that it was the war itself that people got tired of. Things like Americans coming home dead and wounded and fucked up in the head by the whole combat experience. By and large, most of us didn't care much how many Viet Cong they supposedly killed, anyway. Most of the body counts were estimates, anyway. The VC routinely tried to drag their dead off the field so we wouldn't get intel from them. It was also frustrating to the GI's when they cook off so many rounds and then find not much more than some litter and a few blood stains.

What will they say at the Hague?

The Pentagon is the ultimate bureaucratic institute. They count the dead on our side and the dead on their side, they count the collateral dead. Excuse me, did I say "collateral dead", I meant they count the civilian men, women, and children. "Collateral" is another one of those words that is used in propaganda to say "We are sorry that we kill civilians, but they got in the way" Bullshit. They count everbody. How else would they know how effective their weapons systems are? They count them.
