Video Wanted: Olberman's Recent Rant Against O'Reilly Rewriting History...
Edited on Sat Jun-03-06 12:17 PM by arwalden
... about the Malmedy Massacre.

Did you see it? I only caught the last part of it... but I'd love to see the whole thing. Apparently O'Reilly has said the same thing before, but was given a free pass because everyone "makes mistakes"... but O'Reilly has now REPEATED the same lies (accusing AMERICAN troops of the war crimes that were actually commited by the Nazis) and Olberman just LET HIM HAVE IT! Both barrels!

6. O'Reilly may have only listened to HIS history teachers.
Read the last sentence from wikipedia.

"The SS soldiers of Kampfgruppe Peiper were captured, and in May 1946 were put on trial for the killings, in the controversial Malmedy massacre trial. This was held in May–July 1946 in Dachau. The highest-ranking defendant was general Sepp Dietrich. It attracted great attention because of the nature of the crime and the later disputes about the conduct of the trial, and is repeatedly brought up by the German extreme right-wing."

Notice that the Neo-Nazis in Germany agree with O'Reilly.

9. A lot of us are angry
I still could not believe what I heard in that segment when I saw it live. It immediately got a reaction out of me, possibly because it was so close to Memorial Day. To crap on the memory of those guys is reprehensible.

I'm not sure Bill actually knows that he's not telling the truth. When this happens to mentally instable people, it's called confabulation. This is where people fill in the gaps in their memory and then actually believe that they are telling the truth.

10. Think Billdo and Fox didn't know the falsity of his claim the second time
he made it? (This wasn't the first time he's pulled that out of his butt on the air.) But this time it got greater publicity and Fox "fixed" the transcript rather than issue a correction. It's disinformation for a purpose. Not simply error or confabulation. That's the pattern of Billdo and Fox.

Schools still rank near the bottom
Despite six years of major changes, Florida's schools lag behind other states' in many areas - including spending.

On teacher pay, we trail Georgia.

On graduation rates, Alabama is better.

On eighth-grade reading scores, South Carolina just moved ahead.

Despite six years of major changes by Gov. Jeb Bush and a Republican-dominated Legislature, Florida still ranks with its Southern neighbors near the bottom of the education rankings.
