Last night a show did a segment on presidents aging while serving the U.S.
I can't remember if it was Olbermann or Lou Dobbs.

My point is Bush has aged quite a bit, sure, but from what? It sure in the hell wasn't work that has aged him.

When I think of the tireless work Jimmy Carter did trying to bring peace to the world, and all the crap the Right Wing Noise Machine threw at Bill Clinton, it's obvious those men earned every gray hair and line in their faces.

But Bush?

The only thing that worries him is how to give his friends a bigger tax cut.

but it is Bush's destruction of our country and way of life that has aged me.

P.S. -- Do I know you?

6. Everyone who is fiftysomething and older ages a lot over any
four or eight year period, our pampered leaders as well as those of us who don't even have decent medical care.

A president ages. Gee, the Great Ones must be mortal after all.

Bush looks like a 75-year-old man.

I never thought he was good looking, but, man, he is hard on the eyes these days.

He looks rode hard and put up wet.

15. Yes they do
but the more engaged and effective presidents age more than the average.

Like Lincoln - the Civil War almost destroyed him.

And Rooselvelt - one could see that he was dying right before our eyes. Especially when he went to Yalta.

He can probably figure out poll numbers and realizes he isn't King anymore. We are dealing with unreal egos with him and his crowd. Rather his fear is of being caught in his lies and the ability to steal the American public's money to enrich his buddies and to further the PNAC agenda will slow down or come to a halt, 'cause I really think that if average Joe and Jane knew beyond much of a doubt that he lied to get us into such a mess there would be hell to pay.

I remember seeing a poll that asked a question similar to 'if Bush** lied about the reasons for going into Iraq, should he be impeached?' and the majority of the respondents answered yes. If his lies can ever be exposed so that folks have no doubt that he and his cabal lied he knows that he's not only toast, but in big trouble.:hi:

91. Was it Lou Dobbs that asked the question - re: bush
Edited on Sat Jun-03-06 05:53 PM by lyonn
Dobbs asked viewers to talk about bush's accomplishments since he has been in office and the comment/word most expressed was the word "never". It seems when you have a pres. that only reads speeches and signs papers (travels a lot too) and lets others do his job you get this horrible mess we are in.

Right, PNAC seems to be the power, planning and deciding behind our puppet president. bush had a hard time convincing many the he was the Decider. Too funny. Often wondered how Rummy and Cheney work things out? Since Cheney picked himself for VP then he probably has made all the decisions on Judges, torture, sneak and peak, tapping into phone lines at will, etc. Too many cooks in the kitchen!

So, the grey hair is genetic, that stare, the haggard face, the barking speeches of late all indicate to me that he finally realises he has been caught being a nobody/puppet. That can be scary, can the boys that keep him in line continue to do so?

That's how things get agreed upon with him.;) Cheney is the one who said that more power should be given to the exec branch. I just assumed when he said it he meant so they could get away with a hell of a lot more without any oversight or investigations as to what they get up to.

As for the poll I don't remember exactly, but I think it was an msnbc online poll.

W and Clinton. The implication being W has a good marriage and is "moral" asn Clinton wasn't. Gag! The rumors are spinning. I hope Laura publicly humiliates Bush. Then he has nothing left. I don't think they have had a real marriage for years and ordinarily I could care less, but if it is important to his followers, I hope it destroys him!

43. Not only the comment about the Bushes "happy marriage" but he
said that bush is the healthiest President in history or something like that.

You mean having a jaw tic that has to be controlled with Botox to keep it under control, a brain that doesn't function when asked simple questions, skin that erupts at the slightest bump, bloodshot eyes, busted knees, untreated alcoholism, a back so weak he has to lean on any podium or neck that's handy, and a lack of balance that would have put Chevy Chase in the hospital were he on SNL now - - you mean, TV "Expert", that makes him the healthiest President in history?

What crap.

and wondering the same thing. When I was a kid, I saw an alarming series of photos that showed Lincoln's change from dark and stately to a gray wizened toothpick. What could be stressing Bush, he certainly doesn't sweat anything important. Must be the bottled anger, he'd probably get his color back if he got to machine gun everyone who'd ever crossed him.

He's put more gray hairs on my head than any other president could ever accomplish. Every day is another screw-up/cover-up from the WH, and waiting for the other shoe to drop makes those gray strands pop like firecrackers on the 4th of July. That doesn't include the wrinkles and frown lines. Have you noticed all the new wrinkle cream Oil of Olay has come out with during his administration? Now, you know the reason why!

28. I think Bush's first four years in office was focused only on
keeping the lid on the truth of his incompetence so he could get re-elected- the last
four will be fighting indictments.

Yeah, could be a bit stressful.....

35. Aging is aging. He is simply getting older. That, plus laying off
the Grecian formula will do the same thing for anybody his age.

Plus, when men gray, they are thought to look distinguised. When women gray, they are viewed as just plain old. Maybe he's going for the distinguished effect he can't get any other way.

55. It has to be the evil seeping out
Evil is buttugly, that's all I can think of, he doesn't work, I don't think he's even second banana. They dump a gallon of hair dye on his fur and trot him out, lately though it looks like that's not even working.
Maybe, it's all the hard werk of concealing his flings, with kindasleazy and jeffery, I don't know what it is but I want to stay the hell away from it.

60. There is a poster on this thread who has violated any number of DU
rules in his or her first day as a member of DU.

Maybe if we stop responding to this disrupter it will go away?

85. How old are you?
No offense, but you come off like you're either in junior high school, or suffering from some kind of mental disorder.

82. I think they have personal stylists that try to enhance the effect.
You know- they make them look younger at the beginning of their terms, and slowly decrease the effect as the term goes on.
