Maybe it doesn't matter to people if they're being had-- they're having fun, so :shrug:

Unfortunately, there are those who assume or try to put themselves in others heads around here and if you don't agree or "join the crowd" you're whatever slam, snark or other attack word you want to put in here. If someone dissents it's like you've piss in the punchbowl and are a "disrupter"...rather than to exchange thoughts, ideas and that all grow and learn through the einterplay and communications.

For some, sadly, ignorance is bliss...they want to believe only what they want and dismiss other issues or ridicule others who have a contrary view or aren't "hip enough" or popular around here.

Too many times I see some very insightful posts here that sink off the page fast...always replaced by the latest flavor of the moment...beating dead horses into dog food and creating more angst than understanding. These days I bypass a vast majority of the threads here and visit this place far less than I once did since I'm not with the "in crowd" and if I dare to challenge a post...just to exchange ideas. Sadly many other good people who also saw this place in a similar light have vanished as they're tired of the constant fighting and ego games.

With all the information that is available here and across the web, if someone is being "had" maybe there's a reason for it...and it takes a far deeper person to ask and find out why than to ridicule. It's a shame to see so many become of the mindset they complain those on the right have. No wonder many in the middle are turned off by both sides now.

OPd on Latest one minute after mine was another (flavor of the moment) "GeorgeAndCondi!!!!!11" 2 sentence OP, which started bouncing with replies and while mine slid down the page, racked up 15 responses. So there! I was wrong. So be it. Maybe people like posting their opinion so much it doesn't matter WHO IS ASKING.

Your OP was more likely to slide down the front page simply for logical reasons. Why? It was longer and more likely to require a thoughtful response. So it slides down the front page while people are reading it and formulating replies.
