DUers what do you think of this rant my friend wrote?
A friend of mine wrote this. He writes the best stuff about the war and the bush administration. But he doesn't have a computer! I told him he needs to get online and start posting some of the things he is writing. To prove to him that there is an audience for what he writes, I told him I would post this piece here and let DUers give him feedback. So have at it!

Memorial Day

The president today said the best way to honor the dead in Iraq is to complete the mission they gave their lives for. What honorable cause? It was an umprovoked and illegal invasion. How will we know when the mission is completed? To have more die to justify the already dead is a circular argument.

It's a lot like chasing your tail.

When you repeat a circular argument long enough as this president and his administration have done, it becomes obvious that you've not caught your tail, but only succeedeed in getting your head up your ass. And the problems remain.

We need accountability and justice. And we need leadership.

Fallujah? Haditha? Iraq?

Can you justify even one more Iraqi death?

Speak truth to power.

They're ALL murders, committed in OUR name.

We expect more of our soldiers. Shouldn't we demand more from their commander in chief?

What honorable cause?

These are all war crimes and crimes against humanity and George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are the architects, perpetrators and profiteers responsible!

WHERE IS OUR OUTRAGE?

6. Hot dogs
America got a bad hot dog from someone called George W. Bush.

The hot dog was called "Iraq."

Now America is sick.

America goes to George W. Bush and says, "man, that hot dog made me sick!"

George W. Bush's reply:

"I can fix that. Here, have some more hot dogs."

(borrowed from Stephen King, paraphrased)

Seriously, the recto-cranial inversion is good. I live here in the reddest swath of one of the reddest of the redneck states, and I can tell you from firsthand experience that a lot of people down here are anal ostriches!

Definitely encourage your buddy to keep posting. When one person shouts in a crowd, not many people hear, but when more and more people shout, eventually the noise becomes impossible to ignore. We need many loud and clever voices.

And speaking of ostriches...
Q: Why do Republicans have their heads up their asses?
A: Because they're too fat and lazy to bend all the way down to the sand.
(that one was mine)

Peace

I'm talking about the "circular logic" argument. That's GOOD. I wish I had thought of it.

17. This is very good! I especially like this quote, as it reminds me of
another famous quote about monkeys!

"When you repeat a circular argument long enough as this president and his administration have done, it becomes obvious that you've not caught your tail, but only succeedeed in getting your head up your ass.

"An example from the monkey: The higher it climbs, the more you see of its behind."

Saint Bonaventure

:kick: and R! and thanks for posting for your talented friend!
