I hear word around here that she might just do it. I just want to know whether or not I should be getting my hopes up

1. Marcy posted at dKos today

It's a dead heat in California's 36th congressional district where I'm running to replace Jane Harman. If you've ever protested the war or felt frustrated with the lack of spine in Congress, join us (winogradforcongress.com) for our GOTV effort. We want 1,000 volunteers on the ground in the next few days. We are in this to win!

Peace,

Marcy Winograd

She believes she has a shot.

2. I didn't hear anything about it.
We'll definitely see how it goes. Have you seen any polling on it?

6. Winograd is using her money for mailings and GOTV
If Harman had a poll done, she is not sharing results.

The word from blogs is that from the number of signs on front lawns, Marcy wins by a landslide.

For CA on Tuesday I'm hoping for a Angelides/Busby/Winograd/Bowen(SoS) win.

8. It is just the primary, but it is a test of
Progressives versus Moderates in the Democratic party.

Marcy is going up against Jane Harman. Jane supports the war effort and she sits on the intelligence committee where she kept quiet about the NSA spying. Her voting record is pro-big business.

7. I hope I am wrong.
Money rules. Grassroots organizing has an uphill fight. So many just think a campaign consist of TV ads. When tv ads are meaningless. They say nothing, but slay others' images with slander. But, they seem to be the the extend of debate in the US. If she does not make it , that's why.

9. There have been no TV ads in the Harman/Winograd race
They have been using mailings only. I believe Harman wasn't taking this race seriously and Winograd was able to use grassroots organizing to raise her profile to become a serious contender.

10. Good. Maybe democracy has a chance.
Money is the god of tv ads. They need be banned, since they are so useless anyway. Grassroots should be the basis of democracy.Sorry freepers don't like democracy.
