Asking the wrong question
I was watching GMA this morning for a minute, and the lead story was of course, gay marriage.

The graphic underneath the talking heads posed the question: "Gay Marriage, Right or Wrong?"

Except that isn't the question. It really should be "Legalizing discrimination and hate: Right or Wrong?"

I fail to see why the religious types in power find it necessary to legislate Christian morals for the rest of us.

2. Banning Inter-Racial Marriage is next.
And all adult republican males can have multiple 14 year old wives.

4. This issue has nothing to do with "Christian morals".
There are numerous items condemned in the "Bible" that Christians have no problem with allowing and many things that are supposed to be "law" that Christians have no problem with not being our law. The stand being taken against gay people is being made because it is one of the last areas of discrimination and bigotry that still has societal acceptance. This is an area where hate is still "legitimate" - and that is why they are so rabid about it. That is also why the "illegal aliens" issue is so big now - another area of "legitimate" bigotry.
There is no legitimate excuse for denying equal rights to gay and lesbian citizens, only hate and bigotry and this is their last stand...
