W says we should be "Civil & Decent" to Gays, as we banish them.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/06/20060603.html

As this debate goes forward, we must remember that every American deserves to be treated with tolerance, respect, and dignity. All of us have a duty to conduct this discussion with civility and decency toward one another, and all people deserve to have their voices heard. A constitutional amendment will put a decision that is critical to American families and American society in the hands of the American people, which is exactly where it belongs. Democracy, not court orders, should decide the future of marriage in America.

Thank you for listening.

That's republican neocon code for, "Let's pretend we're being just while we oppress millions of Homosexuals".

1. Sounds like the myth of "separate but equal"
during the days of racial segregation.

9. No, it sounds more like...
"We love heretics so much that we are burning them at the stake so they will turn their hearts to God and learn the Truth."

10. "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" after a fair trial by torture.
If the homosexual witch drowns when thrown into the water, she was actually not a witch, but innocent, and given unto the arms of our Lord.

2. Hey Shrub you stupid idiot.
America's not going to fall for it again. The Pimperor has no clothes. This will alienate more of the sheeple just like your "Save Social Security" plan that went down the tubes. Are you ready for a 18% approval rating? Wait another 30 days. And STOP listening to your White House advisors. They are so Reaganesque.

3. And in return, we gays should be respectful and civil...
... to those folks who have their jackboots on our necks.

BTW, does Mary Cheney plan to deliver the rebuttal tonight?
:sarcasm:

4. I'm not banishing anyone. Keep that in mind. This is just a way
for dimson to appease the conservatives while deflecting attention away from the real issues. It might work for today, but ultimately it won't. People are becoming aware of his bobbin' and weavin'.

6. What happened to him being The Decider(tm)?
x(

If only slavery was decided so humanely; by letting the people of the time decide. :sarcasm:

Bush is such a two-faced ficklefiggie. Forgive me, but it's only on select, inconsequential issues does he pander like this. Otherwise, it's HIS decision because HE is the Decider. (and when he screws up, as usual, Clinton gets blamed. :eyes: Well, apart from one time when every President, going back to Carter, got blamed regarding the middle east problem - well, all of them except Reagan, go figure. Oddly enough, * thinks more highly of Reagan than his own father - who was right in that taking out Saddam would have been a dumb mistake! :wow: )

Oh, the Aztec culture was pretty benevolent toward its sacrificial victims too...

8. "....with tolerance...." ??? Oh, Bush will deign to TOLERATE gays, eh?
This is scary language, all.
Because not only is the possibility of INTOLERANCE implicit, but so too is implied the "it all depends on your behavior"--NOT on basic human rights.
