Is he gonna give the Iranians 48 hours like he did Iraq back in 2003?

10. He's concerned about gays ruining the fine institution of marriage.
It's true. In spite of the fact that gay people have nothing to do with divorce rates around the country, heterosexual infidelity, or anything else that concerns marriage, Bush has got to protect it by preventing gays from having the same benefits straight people have.

Bush can't explain how this works, of course. Because it makes no sense. To protect marriage, you do away with divorce. That alone will preserve the fine institution of marriage. Make it impossible for people to just walk away from their commitments. They promised until death do us part, so hold them to it! Close that back door and force people to honor their promises.

That will make people think twice before they get married, and will protect marriage.

Trying to change a document that was designed to protect the rights of all people EQUALLY by discriminating against a group of people is wrong, and should be ILLEGAL in the United States of America.

It really gets me that Bush professes to be a Christian, yet everything he does is so anti-Christian. He lies. He judges others. He doesn't do unto others as he would have them do unto him. He allows people to be killed.

How the "Evangelical Christians" can support this man is beyond me. They must not have the same Bible I have, because I sure don't see where this kind of thing would be acceptable to God. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

I wonder if they believe that Jesus would do the same thing if he were here today. The answer should tell them all they need to know.

Bush and his Evangelical Christian followers are hypocrites. They will all be held accountable by a higher power for their actions, and the price they pay will be dear.

11. That kind of logic falls on deaf ears
My fundie neighbors have six marriages between the two of them (3 each) and berated my partner and I for putting up Halloween decorations for the neighborhood kids on the grounds it was "anti-religious". Then they wanted to know that since we were putting up Halloween decorations would we also be putting up a Christmas display? I told them no, but they were more than welcome to put one up if they wanted one. (Actually, I usually do put up Christmas decorations but I was too tired last year. They just pissed me off.) They keep inviting us to their church despite the fact we've made in quite clear we're not interested.

12. Deep down inside they know they're wrong.
They might only have a glimmer of truth shine every 10 years or so, but deep down inside they know they're wrong. They keep telling themselves that going to church, praying, asking for forgiveness, etc., will guarantee them passage to Heaven when the time comes.

But unless they are mentally disturbed or have a medical condition, I believe that deep down inside they know what they are doing is wrong.

I know people like your neighbors as well. And I always ask them if Jesus would do the same thing today. Would he get married and then divorce later when things didn't work out? Would he walk away from his commitment? Would he discriminate against his gay neighbors because of their lifestyle? He certainly would not. He would love his gay neighbors just the same as everyone else, and would want them to be happy and help others.

I tell them that deep down inside they know what they are doing is wrong, and they can deny it to me all they want, but what I think doesn't matter a bit. The big guy upstairs knows better. That usually shuts them up.

13. Ban divorce, adultery, premarital sex, and masturbation.
And it has to be done by a constitutional amendment, because otherwise it would be unconstitutional as all Hell.

15. It's about his poll ratings
His poll numbers are in the toilet so he's been making more public appearances and "speeches." This appearance is designed to placate the religious extremists.

16. Agreed. And his base is so idiotic that it just might work!
If anyone had any pictures of Bush and Jeff Gannon, now would be the time to release them...

(It's an ugly thought, I know, but we need pictures or a blue dress...)
