Reuters Transmits Photo of Iraqi's Severed Head

NEW YORK -- Most of the most grizzly images from the Iraq war have been kept out of sight, but perhaps the wraps are coming off as the war rages on and violence grows ever more crude.

Wire services sometimes move graphic photos that few if any editors run. Rarely does a closeup picture of a dead body appear in print. But Reuters transmitted a particularly vivid shot on Sunday: a dead Iraqi's severed head being removed from a box, taken by photographer Helmiy Al Azawi....

5. I believe that the answer to your question is "yes".
We are so far removed from the horrors of war. We go about our lives without knowing what is really going on. Pics like this one are a stark reminder that many are dying for *'s war.

i saw the picture yesterday on an iraqi blogger page. very interesting picture on just how cheap life is in iraq..human heads lying in a fruit box in the middle of a dusty street..life is as cheap as rotted fruit.

Since you seem to be arguing for some of that old-fashioned Old Testament justice -- with no evidence but a note enclosed with the severed head of the alleged malfeasor -- don't you think that brand of justice should also be meted out to "God's warrior" himself, GW? 16. making the news the news is a huge pet peeve of mine
IMO, the question isn't "should the AP transmit photos of Iraqi's severed head" intead it should be "why are heads being severed". Can we have an honest conversation in the MSM regarding the civil war and WHY this crap is happening?
