2. I picked "undecided" because I don't know and don't care, my choices......
.....for 08 would be Al Gore/Feingold. Other than that I'll be buying a whole lot of Pepto Bismol and doing a lot of nose plugging to get that lever/button to operate.

3. The assumptions are faulty here.
The question presumes that the 2008 candidate will be somebody who was in the US Congress at the time of the Iraq vote. There are many, many prospective candidates who were not (governors, former congress critters, former governors, ordinary people, Al Gore, etc.).

No vote.

4. on the other hand many of the people who are looking at running
did serve in Congress in '02 and voted for the Iraqi Resolution: Clinton, Bayh, Kerry, Edwards, Biden--that's five right there. That's not to say someone who didn't serve or vote for it won't be nominated. Gore has given every indication (so far) that he is not running in '08. Still it could be someone like Feingold (though not likely) or Warner, who was a governor, but I get the feeling had he been in Congress he probably would have supported the resolution or a governor like Iowa's Vilsack who is also running, and had indicated in the past that he supported the resolution.

12. Of those...
I could support Bayh, Kerry, or Edwards, although I cannot get too excited about Kave-in Kerry (election night 2004).

Bayh because of what I have already written about him. I actually like him better than Kerry. Not for his politics, but his integrity.

My first preference is Gore. Feingold would be up there, too. Clinton is at the bottom of my list.

5. Feingold has one hell of a shot

And, it is LARGELY because he did NOT vote for the Iraq war resolution.

He truly is an opponent of the GOP agenda.

I think he is the dark horse who is going to STORM the 2008 race.

That is my prediction.

7. Remember the resolution was NOT to go to war
but to allow the president to be able to make the decision (as a bargaining chip). OK, so it didn't turn out that way. And if we had a half-way reasonable (non-idiot) president, that could have been the right thing to do.

8. Yeah, but MILLIONS of us knew Bush wasn't to be trusted.
How could any "representative of the people" haven been so gullible? Trust a man who has just stolen his way into the White House? Yeah. Sure.

9. I wrote Kerry PLEADING with him not to vote for it.

I told him that he could show true Presidential qualities and leadership by voting against it. I implored him not to let his Presidential aspirations cloud his judgement.

Obviously, he didn't listen to me. But, who am I? Just one of about a zillion of his constituents who told him the exact same thing!

10. Yeah....if everyone puts on their "thinking Cap" and
realizes that not only should we not vote for someone who was playing "follow the leader" in voting for the IWR....BUT we will also need someone to handle this shit now that we are in there......

So Wes Clark would be the "smart" choice, far as I'm concerned. :patriot:
