To: omega4179 Look on the brightside illegals won't be able to have gay marriage either. Therefore we will not become a magnet for Gay illegal couples. Just something to ponder.

To: samadams2000 Well, I'm just glad to see that gay marriage hand. I think it's great that the President is making his stance on gay marriage so clear.

To: omega4179; samadams2000; kellynla; llevrok; All Oops wrong thread -- I was looking for intelligent, reasoned analysis NOT adolescent snarkiness . . . If I wanted the latter, I would simply walk 2 feet outside my office door and talk to my Chomsky-loving, military-hating, Marxist-endorsing colleagues (i.e., university professors - the REAL enemy)!

To: DrDeb Well, maybe the old trick of throwing the base a symbolic bone whilst being out to lunch on pretty much every other issue is finally wearing too thin...

and why are you addressing me? all I did was post the link to an article in the WashTimes regarding the vote in the Senate.
if you're going to be condescending, you might want to get your facts straight. I don't know what you received your "doctorate" in but it obviously wasn't English! LOL

To: ken5050 Just heard Bush say that "This is an issue that belongs to the voters (not the politicians)." Guess those same voters are not smart enough to decide the illegal immigration debate.
This dog-and-pony show is a straw man debacle right out of the Clinton administration playbook. It's designed to take public attention off the illegal immigration debate and make Bush look like a player, but the only thing it's doing is pissing off more conservatives. Include me in this group, and I voted for Bush... twice.
What a sucker I was, because Bush really sucks. He is treating the American voters the same way Billy J. Clinton and his "wife" did. Thanks for nothing.

To: DrDeb I say this: the corrosive effects of the gay agenda are serious.
Issues of cultural and social devolution of the country are not election year sops. They're important. They didn't just become a concern to conservatives yesterday. They've been a concern and rallying cry for many years now.

To: snowrip Sorry your pissed off. Listen, this issue believe it or not is important to some conservatives. This isnt a dog and pony show. Many of us have been working to make sure this issue comes up. Will there be a victory this year on this issue. I doubt it. But the issue is in the public forum and is being discussed. Perhaps there will be victory next year or maybe 5 years but we have to start some where. This issue was a campaign issue during the 2004 elections and its being debated. I for one am Glad that Bush and others kept their promise to bring it up.
