Why does Al Franken insist on giving air time to wingnuts?
This afternoon, his guest has been Norm Orenstein, a wingnut from The American Enterpise Institute. The thugs insist on calling places like the Heritage Foundation, The American Enterprise Institute, and so many other whore houses "think tanks."

In reality, they are shark tanks and the only "thinking" that goes on is how to grind us into the dust. So why the hell is Franken giving one of their propagandists one instant of the small amount of media time that belongs to people like us?

IMO, it's past time to dump Franken and replace him with Thom Hartmann. We need every one on Air America Radio to be passionate about our cause. If Franken's "passion" consists of doing weak humor and giving air time to the enemy, screw him.

Let him go run for the senate in Minnesota and stop wasting precious AAR air time.

14. Same here.
Maybe when she finishes her book - and we beg and plead - she'll come back and save the show...

16. Agreed. Al's too scatter-shot. She kept him on task.

3. Thom gives a lot of time to wingnuts - helps the audience
learn how to talk to these people

By the way, I agree that it's time to replace Franken.

5. His having wing-nuts on does nothing but help us
Outside of their echo chamber they are confronted on their nonsense and made to look like the fools that they are.

6. Hartmann has had wingnuts on his show every time I've heard him
The last few times he subbed on AAR, he started his show with a wingnut guest from somewhere like the Heritage Foundation or the CATO Institute.

And he's not HALF as entertaining as Franken. Neither are his wingnuts...

8. Franken has the best guests of anyone on AAR
There is this little round thing called a knob on the front of your radio. Turn it off if you don't want to listen to Franken's guests. Or click off the website if you are streaming.

11. Listen, don't listen but how about getting a few facts together
about Norm Orenstein before bashing him? He is NOT a wingnut - just one of the few sane voices at a wacky "think tank." Orenstein is one of the good guys - if you listen to him for a bit you might figure that out for yourself.

18. I really wasn't intending to bash Norm Orenstein
I was only suggesting that if Al Franken has people on with opposing POVs, perhaps he's practicing what we preach, i.e., the Fairness Doctrine.

12. Mike Malloy
should pinch-hit on every AAR show, exclusively dealing with all wingnut guests / callers.

Hey! Arnold! What's up hot stuff?!
