American males were enjoying about 400 years of marriage to a woman with the added services of concubines from the slave quarters, until that practice was ended in 1865 at the end of the Civil War. They have been pissed off ever since, and extended their practices to rampant sex with prostitutes and white slavery for another 60 or 70 years or so, until marriage was somewhat stabilized due to depression and war. Now, with the advent of divorce on demand, marriage as between one man and one woman has only had any relevance for about 25 years during the period since about 1930. There may have been some isolated incidents of monogamy here and there over the last 75 years, but as a whole, there is no defined fixed and meaningful state of marriage in the United States. And when you include the rest of the world, there is generally a chaotic definition of marriage, and the whole f*cking planet is falling apart because of the f*cking. It's called biology, so get over it.

And here I thought we were possessed of certain unalienable rights.

As far as tradition goes, maybe we should take away the vote from blacks. After all, for the first 170 years of the union, it was "traditional" for only whites to vote.
