1. Condi says Iran's threats are meaningless...
Meanwhile, the market disagrees.

Oops.

3. The Dow noticed, down almost 200
I guess all markets have noticed what a corrupt and ineffectual boob is occupying the highest office of this country.

Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 07:09 PM by stop the bleeding
which made investor's shit because it looks like the Fed will tighten the interest rate another quarter of a percent near the end of June. Wahoo rising inflation with rising interest rates with slowing economy means a shitfuck mess for Boob and company.

I got my duct tape, tuna and emergency blanket ready ;)

5. I don't bet on oil either way.
Too painful.

I know one thing though. Pickens says up, a long ways up - $100 a barrel.

My Dad was Dir of Ops at Gulf way back when, shit - we got to study the attempted take over at Gulf when I was in business school. Marathon v Gulf - It was a real big deal.

Boone has $10 billion betting now on $100 a barrel oil. This guy took out one of the seven sisters.

I don't bet against him - not ever.

Joe

Seven families.

The Mellons owned Gulf -

etc...

Not too many standing anymore.

17. Not really.
He wanted CITGO - Gulf stepped in to block it, and he took out Gulf. Just like that.

He is a very smart guy. I think Buffet is smarter, but he is right behind him.

Buffet is stepping aside here - I'd be listening closely to Mr Buffet.

I think, at the end of the day, the more dems that survive the fewer reps do.

And the better off we will be. Just math to me.

Be really careful,

Joe

7. If we launch a bombing campaign on Iran this summer, 72/73 will look cheap
It is madness to take on a nation that has the support of both Russia and China. An act of insanity.

12. They need to invent a "Tonkin Gulf" incident as pretext first.
Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 07:08 PM by Selatius
Must set up the dominoes for the fall and so on and so forth.

I have a hunch a good number of generals fear war with Iran, and they might resign if ordered to begin preparations for war. At least, those who are sane would resign leaving only the Bush loyalists in place, and that might make things worse as you would have left a military leadership that has essentially sworn an oath to Bush and not to the Constitution.

If you can make it appear the US was the one that was attacked, no general and no good soldier would refuse an order to fight to "counterattack" the enemy.

18. If all the good top military brass resigns, who's gonna stop PNAC?
Every branch of our government has so far failed to stop the Neo-Straussians.

Unfortunately, Hermann Goering may end up correct once again - The Big Lie is an effective tool for subverting any system of government.
