The National Socialist Movement, a neo-Nazi organization, has established contact points in three Montana cities -- Billings, Butte and Libby -- and its Butte point person is running for state Legislature.
"We are very concerned," said Travis McAdam, research director for the Montana Human Rights Network in Helena. "All of a sudden it's starting to feel a little like the late '80s and early '90s. There's quite a bit of energy out there."
White supremacists gained attention across the nation in the 1980s and 1990s. In Montana, neo-Nazi activity culminated in Billings in 1993 when a brick was thrown through the window of a Jewish family's home.
