My 6-6-06 Mini Rant

The fact is, there are some serous problems in the American Republic. Our treasury sectary said that the economy is slowing, most finical experts I have spoken to say we are already in a recession. He also accidentally mentioned our real unemployment rate is 8-12% if we would count the people whom unemployment benefits have ran out on our stats.

We have a debt reaching 9 trillion dollars soon, and stealing more money from my generation isn’t going to fix it. We need a realistic economic plan to fix this.

We have an unrealistic immigration policy that thinks we can restrict the legal immigration from Mexico to 40k people a year, when over a million come in. Our naturalized population has stopped breading, so we actually need these people to maintain our 300,000,000 population, if we drop our population too much our economy will collapse from the lack of labor and tax base.

We have a coming environmental crisis. We are putting the carbon sinks that were extracted from our atmosphere over millions of years back into the air, resulting in a level of CO2 that the planet hasn’t seen in millions of years. At the same time, we are poisoning the phytoplankton that converts this CO2 back into solid and liquid waste as well as oxygen. On top of this insult to our ecosystem, we are contaminating the oceans, rivers, and ground water with every chemical under the sun. From PCBs that mimic estrogen and cause cancer, to mercury and lead that cause birth defects, nervous system damage, immune system damage, and a host of other problems, we are poisoning ourselves

Our national security is at risk, not from illegal aliens or terrorists, but from multi-national conglomerations who supply us with the energy to support our way of life. We have had the technology to sever our dependence on foreign energy for same tome, but have lacked the political will to do so. Well, it’s coming to a head. We are competing with a rising super power for this energy, and there inst enough for the both of us. We MUST convert to domestic renewable energy NOW, or our way if life WILL end.
