ANYTHING! I've been listening to Ca. radio stations, but all I've heard so far is a few people saying the Dibold machine didn't work.

1. SacBee: Field Poll: Lowest ever turnout likely
http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/story/14264345p-15077053c.html

With few hot races and many undecided voters, just 34% of state's voters will cast ballots in primary, survey indicates.

LOS ANGELES -- As the Democratic gubernatorial candidates took to the streets in search of votes Monday, the Field Poll predicted today's balloting will produce the lowest voter turnout of any statewide election in California history.

The survey estimated 5.3 million Californians will cast ballots in today's primary election, or just 34 percent of those registered. That would be fewer than one in four of those who are adult citizens and eligible to vote.

Sell It Yourself
"It's a continuation of the really low turnout for gubernatorial primaries that you have seen over the last 20 years," said Mark DiCamillo, Field Poll director. "But this would be an all-time low."

Up to now, the previous low came in 2002, when 34.6 percent of registered voters cast ballots. That year, 24.6 percent of those eligible voted.

2. That info is from a poll. I was hoping to get some info from
local news that described what it looked like for real!

CNN Situation Room is covering the primaries today, something during their show, but they didn't say when.

I wonder if Busby realizes how many Dems across the Country are rooting for her?????

4. I voted as soon as the polls opened
Everyone at work has voted or is voting during lunch - of course, there's just four of us. I tend to think the turn-out is going to be much higher than predicted.

3. Diebold machines don't work in predominantly democratic precincts...
Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 03:17 PM by LaPera
Didn't you know that...it's a strange phenomenon...The machines work perfectly well in republican precincts and even add more votes, but always break down and lose votes in the democratic precincts!

No one really understands this strange voting day phenomenon occurrence...

I think it has to do with the gravity pull on Jupiter, (but I can't prove it yet).

5. Vote for DEBRA BOWEN for Calif Secretary of State! Critically important!
Very close race, with large undecided. Low turnout expected. Every vote counts. And this race is SO IMPORTANT! Spread the word! Call, email friends who haven't voted yet. Post to blogs. Do what you can.

What's at stake is nothing less than voting integrity in California! Bowen knows her stuff, is very savvy on electronic voting, and is a strong, strong advocate for open goverment. Her opponent Deborah Ortiz doesn't have a clue about electronic voting, and has made some alarmingly naive statements about it.
