Girl abandoned as newborn graduates from high school
Girl abandoned as newborn graduates from high school

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) - A girl wrapped in a towel, stuffed in a brown paper bag and abandoned as a newborn on the side of a road is now ready to graduate from a Redwood City high school.

On December 30th, in 1987, it was 45 degrees when a California Highway Patrol officer pulled off Interstate 280 to stop and stretch his legs. He found an infant crying and took her to Sequoia Hospital where she became known as "Miracle Mary."

Ashley Wyrick is 18 years old now. She'll graduate Friday from Sequoia High School, just four miles from where she was dumped when she was just a few hours old.

2. Excellent idea!
It would be a good story to tie in with the "don't abandon your baby" deal... drop the baby off at a police or fire station... no questions asked.

3. The story begs for more details...
Who adopted her, what was her life like, what are her future plans, etc. Yes, it would make a good tv movie.
