last night and did a double take on that. It was a lady judge but, whether that had anything to do with that bail I don't know. I just said wow at the time.

Two of them raped children under the age of 11!

not only the flight risk but what the offense was about. Did this person have a past in terms of warrants or arrests? Where children involved? A man jacking off to Dora books while children where present with a past conviction of child molestation would be much worse than some felon behavior. Either way...I frequent libraries with our daughter often. I do not want to see some strange man jacking off in any section of the library, let alone have to decide what the bail would be set at. This person needs help, it might be a very good thing that the bail is so high. Please...most go there for knowledge not porn. I would have to know past convictions and information about this person before I could say the judge was just out of line.

It's shown that jerks l;ike this, as well as "Peeping Toms," are sexual predators, who often have sexual crimes in their past -- as well as their present. And, that they almost ALWAYS escalate from these behaviors to rape, etc. THis isn't some innocent sex escapade. This is sociopathic behavior (unless the person is mentally ill).

I've worked in several libraries, and this is not uncommon, unfortunately. And, the women it was done too were victimized, and felt assaulted.

Yes, everyone else should have had higher bail -- no argument from me there. But I feel like sex crimes should have huge bail like this (pedophilia, adult rape, etc.). Let the pot smokers alone and nail these bastards , as well as the above mentioned "white collar" ones who've also ruined people's lives.

Usually we just call the cops and have them escorted out with orders never to return.

Admittedly, the one's we've had HAVE kept it in their pants. I think if I saw someone waving it all over our very public computer area which is swarming with kids and old ladies I'd swear out a complaint against the bastard myself.

People expect thier kids to be safe in the library. That trumps any idiot's claim to the right of self-gratification.
