Hey John Roberts on CNN!! How about a little disclosure!!
While you're filling in on AC 360 and prattling on and on about the terror threat north of "our border", you might want to let your audience know that you are IN FACT a Canadian!!!!! You were born in Toronto, you fuck!! And you discuss the Canada terror story without revealing the fact that you also started your career in Toronto way back 25 plus years ago at City TV. That's where you - J.D. Roberts was your name back then - were mainly an entertainment reporter, before 'graduating' to vee jay at sister station Much Music (Canada's version of MTV) in 1984. Next thing you know J.D., uh..I mean 'John', was working for some U.S. network affiliate down in Florida, then he came back north to briefly co-host "Canada A.M." on CTV (comparable to any of the network morning shows in the U.S.). Then, CBS News called and you were gone. Which is fine, but don't give me that 'look at the terror problem they've got up there in Canada' bullshit, you mealy-mouthed, Dan Rather wannabe piece of crap.

Wikipedia has it all...

Monika Deol, too.

Just sayin'.

2. Why are you "just sayin" that here?
Why take a thread on the hypocrisy of fear mongers and turn it into your platform to let us know what random women you find attractive?

If I wanted to read about women being objectified, I wouldn't be reading political threads on DU.

or I dunno, lately. Maybe I would.

I guess I'm asking you to keep it to yourself, or at least keep it to the lounge if you feel it necessary to rate women as sex objects and share your ratings with others.

7. As long as we're dispensing unsolicited advice...
...I'd suggest you just skip over stupid posts like mine.

Life's too short to take the time to reply and provide that post with attention it doesn't deserve.

Forgive me, I had a weak moment.

Cheers!

3. Well, it's the same for Neil Young...
Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 09:56 PM by ShaneGR
According to that article he's lived in the US over 20 years now. I don't agree with his point of view, but saying he cant talk of terrorists threats from canada to the US because he's originally from Canada doesn't pass the smell test for me. I mean, if he's from Canada, wouldn't that make him actually qualified to talk about it? It's not like we're perfectly safe from terrorists getting into Canada and then entering the US across what's a pretty soft border.

6. You might want to go back and read my post again...
I never said "he can't talk of terrorist threats from Canada to the US because he's originally from Canada". He surely can, and yet he chose to only do so without revealing the fact that he was born in Toronto . This alleged terror plot was mainly based in Toronto, and Mississauga. That - for those who are not aware - is a Toronto suburb, and is where Roberts grew up. I was talking about disclosure, and not saying that Roberts "can't talk of terrorists" for the reason you claimed I suggested.

5. Roberts was cowardly in his interview with Falkenrath of Brookings too.
Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 10:10 PM by glarius
Roberts also knows that Richard Falkenrath was misleading about
the "terrorist threat we've long known about that goes back to the 80s." In the first place, Falkenrath was in the Bush Administration before he joined the Brookings Inst. The "terrorist threat we've long known about" he's referring to, as Roberts well knows, has nothing to do with Islamic terrorism. It is the Air India bombing, for which 2 Sikhs living in Canada (not sure if they were citizens) were tried. The bomb went off in the plane over the Atlantic Ocean, near Ireland and 329 died. Most of them were Canadians of Indian descent. The two men belonged to a Sikh separatist group devoted to creating a Sikh state called Khalistan in the Punjab....These people had NO connection to Islamic terrorists nor did they want to harm Canada (or the U.S.A. for that matter). Their beef was with their home country of India. John Roberts knows that and yet made no effort to correct Falkenrath, but rather let him imply that Canada was rife with Islamic terrorists for many years....Roberts is disgusting.
