7. My mom changed her mind at the last minute - went for Tester
She said it wasn't because of Morrison's affair but rather Tester just proved himself to be a real "go to guy". I think people thought they had to vote Morrison to beat Burns but now are voting with their hearts for the real deal. Hope he pulls it off.

9. They told me they had to vote for him because of his crew cut and
the fact that they really like him and his policies.

8. Could someone give me a quick summary of Morrison vs. Tester.
I understand Tester is the netroots favorite, and I'm happy he's apparently won, but what's the deal with Morrison? ... (Sorry, I haven't followed this one.) Thanks.

10. The short of it:
They're both good guys and have good positions. Morrison is very beltway and a lwayer, Tester is a farmer. Morrison had an affair (which I don't care about), but there was aparently some conflict of interest concerning his mistress and her husband's company. I think this turned the tide for Tester: how can you go after an ethical nightmare, if you yourself are one too?

11. Here's what I know
Morrison is the state auditor. He comes from a prominent family and is the DLC establishment candidate. He has run to the right of Tester, endorsing the marriage amendment for example. There was a scandle during the campaign due to reports of infidelity or something of that nature.

Tester is the President of the state Senate and an organic farmer. He is a populist much in the mold of Gov. Schweitzer who really can connect with rural voters. He is not afraid to call himself a Democrat, in fact he helped the Democrats gain seats in the state legislature in 2004.

Those who are more knowledgable, please feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong.

12. Morrison has conceded with 42% of vote in, Tester solidly up
Get back to our Populist Roots, people. That is a good plan in the heartland.
