7. tick tock ... tick tock... can The People vote for a pay cut?
Why are these bastards wasting The People's time? Nobody (except a few thousand wingnuts) gives a SHIT about this issue. It is not on the radar.

If anyone in the privaye sector diddled around like this on the job, they'd be FIRED.

20. He's throwing redmeat to the fundies here
He's up for re election in November and stands a very good chance to get his ugly ass kicked back under the rock he crawled out from. Since November 04 the furher* numbers have declined by 39% here, even the fundies know they were sold a bill of goods, unless he can get the ravenous base out this fall he's cooked.

15. You don't understand
There is a procedural rule that means if the Republicans don't have somebody vote "no" on a losing cloture vote, they won't be able to bring the bill up again. Thats why First kept voting no on cloture on confirming Bolton, because he knew it would fail and wanted to bring it up again

Banner reads: "Ban on Same-Sex Marriage" versus 'Federal Marriage Amendment'

Good for them.

27. So they actually did worse than last time this vote was brought up?
I think that's what the announcer just said. Last time, the vote was 50-48.

Funny, a headline I read on Yahoo! earlier said that the Republicans were sure they'd pick up 6-7 votes in their favor. Guess not!
