according to (SORRY, EXCUUUUSE ME, A THOUSAND APOLOGIES) Smudge Report headline.... but curious, if true.

If Gore's name was "dropped", could it have some connection to him returning to politics?

The message is the same, but the perception might be different. Who knows. Al Gore has done a great job on this movie, and it's important that people understand the consequences.

I don't think we'll know what Gore's plans are until he officially makes an announcement one way or the other. So far, all I've heard are statements that have disqualifiers in them, which means the option for a change of heart is very much alive. Time will tell...

Of course, if we can't have an honest election, it really doesn't matter.

6. "Al Gore's Earth in the Balance" -- not something he would do

He doesn't seem to be the kind of person who insists on putting his name out in front of the book title, or having an author photo that takes up the entire back cover. So it would not surprise me that he wants the film to stand on its own merits (and based on the accompanying book and the the reviews the movie's gotten so far, they are considerable).
