3. How many tax payer dollars were wasted on this by the Party of Fiscal
Responsibility/Small Government?

How many illegal aliens snuck over the still unprotected border during the wasted three days of debate on this by the Party Who will Keep us Safe from Terra?

4. Gee, I'm so glad we're spending time & treasure on absolute crap
like this, that has ZERO chance of going anywhere. :sarcasm:

Of course, doing dumb shit, wasting time & money on meaningless tripe is the hallmark of the republican party !

5. Like: Call your reps and INSIST the Estate Tax doesn't get repealed!
Edited on Wed Jun-07-06 10:12 AM by havocmom
The other issue, while very emotional and important, was just a diversion! The 17 richest families in America have hired a lot of help to get the Estate Tax repealed.

People, this would mean tens of billions of bucks not going into the coffers. Guess who would get to make up the difference?

End of the Estate Tax, which actually involves VERY FEW estates, would mean the deficit goes up even faster, thus creating a BIRTH TAX on every citizen regardless of how poorly they are doing in our lopsided economy.

Get on the horn and raise hell to the Fools on the Hill!

If you are a novice at contacting Congress, People For the American Way has a feature on their site that makes it quick and painless. Be a part of the fun, rattle their cages and let them know how you feel. It's easier than you think.

6. They only gained one vote from 2004
There was an article on Yahoo this morning talking about how they would have over 50 votes because of all of the new republican senators that won seats from the last time they pulled this shit.

I'm going WAY out on a limb to predict that they'll do this again in 2008. :sarcasm:

7. Aren't they due to take up flag burning next?
Maybe they can make apple pie the national dessert. At least everybody of any political stripe can agree on the virtues of apple pie.

Senator McCain, with whom we may disagree, at least showed some sense of responsibilty yesterday when he said "I hope we can get to the defense appropiations bill as soon as possible."

Fat chance, Senator. Responsible people aren't running this country right now.
