Woodruff Is Reading Newspapers & Watching Broadcasts "To Keep His Mind Working"

ABC News president David Westin held a closed circuit staff meeting yesterday. It was moderated by Bill Weir and seen in NY, DC, LA, Atlanta, Chicago, and London. It was also archived.

Westin told staffers that Bob Woodruff is progressing well. "David was with him last week and says he is reading a lot of newspapers, watching the broadcasts and reading scripts to keep his mind working," according to a tipster, who adds:

"On a personal note, knowing Bob and seeing him and his post on the World Newser brought a huge smile to peoples faces in the building. Unfortunately, it was because of Kimberly Dozier being hurt and the death of her two crew members. But to see Bob write something, and be published on the Web site is a relief for many here."...

Dozier Enters Phase 2 -- "To Start Remolding Her Life, Fixing Her Legs, Fixing Her Spirit..."

Col. Bryan Gamble, commander of the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, says Kimberly Dozier has made "some pretty good progress" since arriving in Germany last week. "She still has a long road ahead, but I think its promising."

CBSNews.com says: "Vice president Linda Mason reports that Dozier was in great spirits and was talking animatedly as she was brought aboard the plane."

"Phase 1 was to save her life, which they did here. Phase 2 is to start remolding her life, fixing her legs so that she can walk, fixing her spirit so she can live a carefree life," Mason says. "It's all going to take time."
