Why can't the gov't just issue new SS#'s to all 26 million? I know this would be a pain but it would be much easier for anyone to identify and activity from the stolen numbers if new ones were issued. All the old number could be flaged and the 3 credit bureaus would know it was fraudlient activity and deny the credit.
1. That would be a good idea....if the government could fix the
problem of keeping the data safe...we would be back in the same place a couple of years from now...and with this Republican Congress there is no way they would consider the cost to help our soldiers protect their privacy...and fix their credit....
If we are going to talk about all US citizens...then it will definitely will never happen with a Republican Congress and President. I think that the Credit Bureaus are a scam...always have.
What is so tragic about these theft incidents is that these soldiers work directly for the government...and the government should have security checks around their data....and around all government employee data...if they can't protect their data...there is no hope for the rest of Americans...
This is just the beginning....I have no doubt that All Americans private data is in jeopardy...
