Cingular wireless is UNION -here's how to switch for free
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 12:05 AM by upi402
Move or get transfered to an area without service.
I know someone who did it with a major cooperating wireless provider and they didn't charge him a cancellation fee.
He ended up not getting transferred, but he has a UNION wireless service now.
I think he was going to move to
Nome, AK

1. Cingular is AT&T/SBC
Yes, they're affiliated with the CWA (a union eager to sell out workers at the drop of the hat) and a very few offices with TIU (a union with teeth) but you'll be dealing with AT&T/SBC if you go with Cingular. Something to consider.

2. Which is better and with national coverage?
I thought it was a union victory, no?

Working Assets doesn't have the coverage I need and is associated with the ultra evil MBNA, if I recall.

3. Lots to Consider
CWA is shit-awful union. Look at their history with other telcos.

AT&T/SBC is one of the companies who turned over LUDs (local usage details) to the government. Some people dont want to give them more of their business if they don't have to.

Working Assets is a Sprint reseller.

I don't use Working Assets or Cingular. I use another company - they're not saints, either, but I don't loathe them the way I do AT&T/SBC.

6. Actually, It's Been an SBC Holding for a Couple of Years
SBC just bought AT&T and then SBC changed its name to the acquired company, AT&T.

8. I Hate Cingular - Those Bastards FIRED ME!!!
they did everything they could to insure I was not adequately prepared to do my job...and then asked me to do it, anyway....and always said, "fake it till you make it."

Well, finally, the Peter Principle caught up with me, and I ended up fired out of it.

Fuck Cingular.

I kept asking, begging, and pleading for more training, and they would not give it to me...they just kept forcing me to do things I had not been adequately trained for, and then punishing me for doing it wrong!

They treat their employees like shit. At least, they treated THIS one like shit!

10. My mom got laid off from Cingular after more than 13 years
She begged and pleaded for her job back. She was paying a mortage on her own. They gave her her job back. With a 50 percent pay cut.

She took it cause she will be getting some decent retirement benefits in a few years. And it's not like she had a choice.

9. My mom works at Cingular and says their union sucks
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 01:20 AM by RagingInMiami
She said they are very weak and sell out to management.

EDIT: That's not to say I don't use Cingular cause I get a good deal through her.
