1. That's the best yet!
Thank you,   I would love to see the clip,I hope someone finds it. Here's Oberman today http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/06/07.html#a8626 Olbermann: Honestly, if you were Ann Coulter's attorney at a sanity hearing where could you possibly start? Our #2 story on the Countdown, eclipsing even Bill O'Reilly and Malmedy, the Connecticut Screech has continued her assault on 9/11 widows. After calling them "witches who acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them" she has now told Reuters news that they are, quote, "professional victims." All as part of the promotion of a book in which she claims *liberals* are, quote, "godless." :grr:

Let's return to *this* planet. To recap Coulter's argument: The wives of those who died in the worst attack in this nation's history enjoyed their husband's deaths and profited off them, they have politicized 9/11, their positions as widows immunize them from any criticism or debate over their opinions. All of this stated by a commentator much of whose income in the last four and a half years has derived from *her* speeches and writings about the deaths of those same men on 9/11. All this stated by a commentator who has staunchly, repeatedly, and enthusiastically defended an administration that began to politicize 9/11 within a month of the nightmare and has never paused for a moment since. All of this stated by a commentator who has called those who have criticized her and her party "un-American" and now, "godless." All of this stated by a commentator who is bitching that these 9/11 widows can't be criticized while she is writing a book and going on TV and venomously criticizing them.

:grr:
The way Ann Coulter always does when she's criticized.

Ms. Coulter's walk on the swaying tightrope of her own emotional stability did not end there. In her book she also wrote, "And by the way, how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies? Now that their shelf life is dwindling, they'd better hurry up and appear in Playboy..."

Appearing in Playboy and getting divorced -- neither of those being scenarios that Ann Coulter is ever going to have to deal with in *her* life.

Five of the most politically active 9/11 widows, including Kristen Breitweiser and Lorie Van Auken, have responded in a written statement.

And lastly, back to my allusion about having to defend Ann Coulter in a sanity hearing, that was inappropriate -- because it was insufficient. Imagine, in fact, defending her on Judgment Day -- and trying to find her soul.:grr:

2. She is obviously repressing deep childhood trauma.
All that anger and hatred points to untreated abuse-related trauma. I'd go so far as to speculate that the abuse was either perpetrated by a woman or that a woman who should have been protecting her somehow facilitated the abuse. That would explain why she reserves her special invective for women, and why her criticism of them is usually couched in derogatory sexual terms.

The fact that such a manifestly unwell person is give such airplay in the MSM is a national scandal. She should be in therapy, not on TV.

3. I've always thought
Her hatred of women came from her intersex condition. I believe the person, though I can't find where I read it, that Coulter was born intersexed and assigned a female gender.

I am not making fun of her, I am not making fun of the intersexed. it's a real issue. It's not a strawman issue. I don't agree with calling her Man Coulter or people harping on if she is a transexual. I think that's uncalled for.

As many as 2% of babies are born intersexed.

I think her hatred of women comes from hatred of self. She's a sad, pitiful excuse for a human being, constantly spitting vitriol and hatred. The world would be a better place if she got help for her obvious self-hatred issues.

13. Right, just look at her main targets
Hillary, Nancy Pelosi, Cindy Sheehan, Cynthia McKinney, Helen Thomas...

She knows that she can never legitimately acheive thair successes, so she hates them with a passion.

4. I disagree
I think her putrid comments perform three functions: they make her famous, sell her book and legitimize other "conservatives" by making them look reasonable, thereby moving the country to the Right.

So Tucker Carlson can say Ann's comments are horrible and everyone says,
"Ooooh, he's not so bad - he really gave it to her." Next time he derides establishing a national health care system, people will be more lkely to say "that's reasonable."

5. That's an interesting idea...
...although even Hitler would appear moderate next to Ann. But I wouldn't put it past the Repugs to pull that kind of crap.

Someone didn't give Hannity the memo, though. He said "I agree with most of what you say" in his interview with her yesterday. Oops. Now he's admitted to being what everyone knows he is.

Imagine Cindy Sheehan or Al Franken making these comments?

Funny how Hannity is in her corner ... I guess he has the same
belief about these "Professional Victims"???

17. I absolutely agree!
She's just a performance artist sent out by the far right so that compared to her they look moderate. They've been pulling this stuff for years.

19. No, she's a raging sociopath
It's honestly as simple as that. Her behavior isn't a woman's fault. Unless the woman is Coulter herself.

22. The great GOP skirt offensives
all featured Coulter. Now she has her timed book release shortly before the Iranian adventure. Can we expect more GOP women of note to blast away at Dem leaders? Everytime a real vet or solidly credentialed male socks it to the chickenhawks, out come their female brood, fiercer than the male. A crude balance in an unequal equation of their position and fact based opposition. It is like some monstrous apotheosis of childhood politics all honorable children(the majority) despised though it might sustain a bully's group.

24. just remember, everyone
she's all about selling the books. Period, end of story.

And the more free publicity she gets - well, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

And the hell of it is, people who should know better than to encourage her - like Hillary and Letterman and Olbermann - are providing her with publicity she couldn't hope to buy.
