Nick Berg's father on CNN
saying that Zarqawi's death will do nothing. Naming dubby as top terrorist.
Sorry I caught it late and don't have the quotes perfect.

1. Nick Berg was killed by the US. I still believe that.
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 07:00 AM by Roland99
As a distraction from Abu Ghraib.

It sure as hell wasn't one-leg. The video of one-leg from a while back shows him a good 30lbs heavier than the one that killed Nick Berg.

Oh yeah, and the guy that killed Nick Berg had TWO legs.

Nick Berg had strange connections to the terrorists, and his death seemed too perfectly timed.

The tennis shoes size 16 and gold chains and stuff.
Nick was used for propaganda and I'm glad his dad is bold enough to tell it like it is.

Go back and look at all of the crap surrounding his death and the coincidences surrounding his time in Oklahoma, I believe it was, and why he was even in Iraq to begin with.

That whole incident just smells of propaganda and cover-up.

48. The Men on the Ground...
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 09:13 AM by davekriss
...followed orders at Belsen and Auschwitz, again at My Lai. The Men on the Ground dropped the bombs and fired the guns that killed 3,000+ innocent Panamanian citizens just so GHWB could bag Noriega. The Men on the Ground mined the harbors of Nicaragua. The Men on the Ground trained Battalion 3-16 to execute the most horrible acts of torture and terror in Honduras and elsewhere. The Men on the Ground oversaw the building of El Aguacate air base, the torture and detention center and staging area for the illegal Contras raiding Nicaragua, the Men on the Ground unleashed the dogs and fecal matter at Abu Graib, committed atrocities and war crimes at Falluja, murdered innocent men, women, and children at Haditha, the Men on the Ground conducted extraordinary rendition of human beings to black prisons where they could be tortured as a means to terrorize insurgent populations from which they were snatched. The Men on the Ground guard 14 year old "terrorists" at Guantanamo. There's so much these Men on the Ground won't do.

On edit: I goofed: This was supposed to be a response to postr #6, by Sailor for Warner, who says:

26. Sailor, you are naive as hell if you really think that.
"It will help discredit Bin Laden-ism."

"Yes, you kill one man, but you save 000's and help win the war."

"Orders came right from the top, son, we're just doing our job."

"Look, Berg's a no-good peacenik's son. The FBI arrested for being up to no good. They only let him out this morning coz his unpatriotic family were making a fuss."

"Are you gonna do it, or do we have to get someone else to?"

"Next time one of our boys gets blown up, are you gonna stand there and think 'I could've done something'?"

38. My husband's former Army and he believes our military
would act upon the orders of the president for political gain. And he's not especially cynical, either. However, he worked in the "spy" field during his time served and probably knows some pretty hairy stuff that he can never tell me or anyone else.

I think you should do some research into past political/military actions before you make the statement that you don't believe it could or would be done.

Welcome to DU, btw. I hope to change your opinion about your choice of candidate, there, just so you know. :)

I don't see a need to go the tinfoil route to the prove U.S. govt. displayed heinous behavior in the matter.

Even if it were ever proved (most likely it will not) that Zarquawi was not the knife man, to automatically make the knee-jerk jump to "it must have been a U.S. black op, why look at them helicopters" I find patently silly. Like there weren't plenty of crazy bastards running around kidnapping westerners and killing them. No. Couldn't a been one of them now could it?

24. Welcome to DU! I hope you like it here.
There are lots of people here who are so angry and hurt they see the evil hand of Bush in every single unfortunate event. Sometime their passion blinds them to the laws of probability. Some days DU is practically wrapped up like a baked potato on the coals in tinfoil. I usually choose to take a break on those days. Today may be one of those days. Once was the time I wasted significant parts of my precious days pouring over the details, asking questions and debating points. I discovered quickly some people NEED to believe in conspiracies, and no amount of logic or reason will penetrate that need.

and I can be accused of following conspiracies, but the propaganda derived from this episode is still paying off.

Caller to C-spn just this morning mentioned the beheading of our guys.
Apparently a few beheadings allow us to trash all of Iraq.
And besides that, the Geneva Conventions have been left on the ash heap, so all is fair in war and love.

Edit for coherence.

Mr. Bush, you could have gave yourself away with that phrasing

you could have gave some more thought to the irony of your statement about using the death of a single terrist for political gain

has your administration uttered ONE SINGLE statement during its illegal existence that was NOT intended to further its political agenda?

thanks for trying to express yourself without using an earpiece for a change, though
