Unless they think he'll actually do something about it, they won't do anything. When the time comes, they might say something; but I don't expect anything will happen. Just a show.

8. He TALKS a good game, but when it comes down to taking action

he always folds like a house of cards. Talking the talk is all fine and good, but when you sit on your thumbs as the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and then rant and rave about how the White House is walking all over you...I just can't have any respect for the man. Now if he actually does something, then I'll start believing him, til then he's just like McCain to me....All bark, no bite.

6. Wish Specter had set a time limit for response

He did set-out many important issues for Congressional oversight over bushco' "New Rules." As usual, we don't know if we can rely on Specter to stick to his guns, he does dissapoint.

....is definitely to his detriment but Spector is also one of the most straight forward truthful people I've seen in the Senate in a long time. Give credit where credit is due.

11. If you've observed Specter, he comes across as very

arrogant over his prized role as chair of the committee. I think he is coming at this as a personal affront to his ego and his own presumed power.

Whenever I listen to him and in reading this letter I get a sense that Specter is incensed at being dissed.

Silly little man. He helped the Administration obtain its power. He helped create the monster and it is too late to take the power back.

12. I agree with you.

But I do like the ultimatum he gives Cheney in saying "...the Judiciary Committee will consider confronting the issues with subpoenas and enforcement...". I will give him credit for that one.
