Deena Burnett, another 9-11 widow spoke at the Republican National Conv.
I didn't agree with her support of Bush, but I would be appalled if someone on the left made statements about her similar to those made by Ann Coulter about the "Jersey girls".

So here is my question DU, would you have defended someone on the left if they said that Deena Burnett is "a millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about her, reveling in her status as a celebrity and stalked by the grief-arazzis. I've never seen a person enjoying her husbands' deaths so much. And, by the way, how do we know her husband wasn't planning to divorce this harpy?"

2. At the very least
I would be disgusted and appalled that anyone from my side was stupid enough to say something so repugnant and insulting to so many. x(

7. Agreed. That's why it is so illuminating when you see so many on the
right who are still defending Ann Coulter and even agreeing with her.

3. No! And if I had...
I would trust my fellow DUdes to bitch slap me back to reality.

Living the life of an American these days is rough on everyone and it's hard for many to allow themselves to believed we have been led down the garden path by the lying sacks of manure in power. It's still hard to believe that 9/11 actually happened. It must be horrific for the family of the victims to see what BushCo has done in the aftermath.

I'm more likely to give the gal a pass citing the mental cruelty that the attack and the administration have levied against her.

4. That's just not cool...
You don't talk about people that way.
No matter which "side" they're on.
It's just not cool.

5. I never would have dreamed of doing it, but...

If given the chance, I would NOW!

And I would make sure she knew that it was Ann Coulter-- one of her own fellow-travelers-- who pointed that out to me.

Just like the next time a pro-Bush veteran tries to brag about their Purple Hearts from Vietnam, I'll laugh in their face and tell them that the Republicans taught me that soldiers could pretty much award themselves a Purple Heart whenever they felt like it.

I'm not ready to make nice.

They set the tone first.

Let's stop being the wishy-washy feel-good party that plays fair.

When they throw a weapon into the arena, and they use it first, we need to pick it up and use it right back. But make sure they know where the weapon came from.

"Ann Coulter says that you enjoyed your husband's death, and she's a REPUBLICAN, just like YOU! So stop using it as a campaign tool for the Repukes!"

8. It is the same with grieving
parents who have lost a child in this war and still support the president. It is their right and to bash them is cheap and insensitive.
