How Can a Doctor Deny Lifesaving Research to Children?

Something I recieved in my e-mail. I just thought I'd pass it along.




Stem cells are "blank" cells that have the potential to develop into any type of cell in the body -- nerve cells, heart cells, kidney cells. This gives scientists hope that stem cells could one day treat childhood illnesses like Batten disease, hemophilia, and Leukemia.

One year ago this month, the House of Representatives passed legislation to expand stem cell research. Yet so far, Senate Republican Leader Bill Frist, a doctor himself, has refused to schedule a vote in the Senate, caving instead to the far religious right.

The American people deserve better. This is a rare opportunity for Congress to significantly improve the quality of people's lives.

In the state of MO, they are running ads raising the awareness of stem cell research, because they have something on the ballot there that would keep Missourians not only from doing such research, but also from benefitting from any therapies, etc, that come out of this research.

We've let the religious right mandate policy for too long. Lives could be saved by this and other studies if they'd just wake up.

Seriously, he and his Repuke scum buddies have done everything to make infant mortality higher, to pollute the air our children breathe, to steal from generations to come for GREED, and to deny parents the ability to properly care for their kids by failing to support health care or decent jobs for American mothers and fathers.

He cares even LESS for some anonymous stem cells, but BubbaJoe Dumbfuck at the First Southern Baptist Hate Tabernacle has convinced Frist that he will donate heavily to Frist's campaign (and possible future legal expense funds) if Frist will stop being a Science-trained "physician" and instead act like a goddamned superstitious caveman.
