OUT OF LINE: The Dixie Chicksr; ABSOLUTELY OK:Coulter's remarks
That's the kind of reasoning you have to employ if you're a conservative these days.

and no apology is good enough, neither. Yer boycottin' them and calling the radio station in a fit at the mention of their name. Those girls deserve to have their career ruined.

Also, you have to summon your canned outrage every time ted rall speaks. you'll write to every paper that carries his strips to see to it that he's banned.

You expect every non-republican to either denounce someone as obscure as ward churchill. the colorado legislature should, no MUST, see to it that he is fired and that his truck is vandalized.
linda ronstadt deserved to be walked out on when she said she liked michael moore

but if anyone complains about coulter, they simply can't take a joke and wat to take her freedom away and silence conservatives.

1. Yes, you've nailed it pretty accurately.
Those republicans are just paragons of rationality and consistency.

2. Thanks!
Others have said worse (if you think the Chicks' message was bad - and I don't) and had few if any repercussions come from it. The Chicks are being singled out on this one.

4. Hey Adenoid, haven't you heard?
Rule #1 for Republicans: The rules don't apply to us.

They live by a different set of rules and standards than everyone else. That's why they wanted to execute Bill Clinton for an affair with an aide, and Dick Cheney can shoot a man in the face and get away with it, yea, even get an APOLOGY from the VICTIM!

Now how screwed up is that?

It's a double standard all the way, you can drown in their hypocrisy!

5. IOKIYAR
"Its OK, If You're a Republican"

Didn't someone say this (maybe Paul Krugman a couple of years ago?)

6. Didn't you hear? God chose Repubs to rule the world with an iron fist
and made them exempt from obeying the law. I'm sure it says that somewhere in the Bible

7. The Dixie Chicks, from the few times I've them interviewed,
show a grasp of reality and clear indication of enlightenment that is inspiring.

When challenged to go on a rant, they (two of them that I heard)easily avoided the clumsy trap and displayed such simple, eloquent elegance and grace, while providing unambiguous answers.
It's like comparing Feingold, Clark, Gore, or Kerry to bush.

8. If you're on the team, anything goes.
Dixie Chicks - not on the team. OK to harrass, threaten, boycott, etc.

Michael Moore - SO not on the team. Cannot comprehend what they think would be OK to do to him.

Rush - On the Team. Even in the fact of blatant hypocrisy, they will support him.

Coulter - On the Team. They will support her no matter what she comes up with.

Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Dobson, et al - On the Team. At worst they may sniff and say, "Well, he doesn't speak for *everyone*"

There's no objective evaluation of anything with respect to what these people say or do. You're either on the team or you're not.

9. Coulter is doing us a great service . . .
Edited on Fri Jun-09-06 02:13 AM by OneBlueSky
I'd wager that the vast majority of Americans are sickened by her vilification of 9/11 widows . . . her inane hysteria might just encourage some of them to look into progressive ideas and initiatives . . .

as they say . . . give her enough rope, and she'll hang herself . . . the worst outcome of this self-lynching is neutral . . .

the best is that those who are as disgusted as we are dropping in for a visit -- and maybe seeing that we're not the monster-idiots the right and their house organ corporate media have made us out to be . . .
