My email to Dan Abrams
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 10:46 PM by proud2Blib
Dan read an email today from a woman who complained that allowing gay rights to get out of hand has been a detriment to our children.

After my :wtf: moment, I sent Dan this email:

I want to know what Marie Waters is thinking when she writes "It has been to the detriment of our children that we have allowed gay rights to get out of hand."

I have been a teacher in an elementary school for nearly 30 years. I have known literally thousands of children and I have absolutely no idea what Ms. Waters is talking about. Is there some secret conspiracy by gay people going on that I need to be aware of?

This is getting scary, Dan. First I find out that my own marriage will be threatened if we allow gays to marry; now I hear that kids are being damaged by gay people! What should we do?

I know! Let's all write our elected representatives and insist that they discuss this in Washington. There surely can be no greater problems facing America.

12. The danger to children is they might be deprived of their God-given
right to hate people.

7. LOL _ what a fabulous picture!! I LOVE IT
Are you free on Sundays? Come to Nichols Park at 47 and Main from 4 to 5. We are there every Sunday protesting. We can have a beer after the protest - right across the street - at happy hour prices.

I know I need to schedule a DU meetup. The last few were so poorly attended I decided to give everyone a break for a couple months.

11. a child comes into this world knowing one thing, suckle
I read that by the age of 5 the average person will have learned 95% of what they will have learned. I don't know if that is true but I do know that early childhood education is most important

10. You really have to look at this from the other side
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 10:51 PM by ariellyn
The media is using gays--by talking about them, airing more and more images of them...to actually scare people. I don't think there has ever been as much publicity or talk about homosexuality as there is now. People are ignorant, and they are afraid. Some think their kids can "catch" it--gayness that is. Many shows today feature lots of teen girls kissing and making out with each other. This bombardment of sexuality--in a society where sex is pretty taboo to begin with, coupled with the stupidity about religion--like the wars on Christmas and marriage and Easter :eyes:--is an easy "win" for the Republicans. They are using homophobia to pander and those who don't have critical thinking skills are falling for it hook line and sinker. Openly gay people in society is as close to the Apocalypse at it gets for many fundies.

16. It's all those "same sex" locker rooms and restrooms in the schools!
We have to stamp them out! We need "gender neutral" facilities to encourage heterosexuality!!

:dunce:
