...but it was still lovely to watch the shutters slam down when she realized she was wrong. The woman's self-constructed aura of infallibility is so wrapped up with her sense of self-worth that she can't admit a simple factual error without falling apart. So she sits there like a schoolchild caught lying, hoping that, if she asserts the same nonsense forcefully enough, it will magically become true. A good shrink could make a career out of that woman.
