Leno play-by-play
"Al Gore is on the show tonight..." THUNDEROUS applause.

Jokes:

"Al Gore, actually, has been rated our second most popular guest ever. Well, that's not quite right, he was actually voted first, but the Supreme Court intervened..."

"Al Gore is also called the best vice president we've ever had. No offense to Mr Gore, but, come on, he was preceded by a guy who couldn't spell potato, and succeeded by a guy who shoots people in the face."

"Al Gore is promoting his new movie... I saw it, it's really great, it's being called a 'wake up call' by critics, that's something. Who would've thought, though... Al Gore's out promoting his movie, and Arnold Swarzenegger's out talking about his latest policy initiatives."

on transcribing his appearance.

I really want to watch, so I am not going to try to type while he's talking, but I will post a recap to the best of my memory ASAP. They're still doing the skit segment, then there'll be a commercial, then Al. At about 11.

7. Leno: "quick question"
does killing zarq help us in Iraw?

Al: "YES! Of course, it helps us, because maybe ti will keep him from killing some of our boys and girls over there... I hope they use the intelligence they get out of this..."

Al also calls him a bloodthirsty murderer and says it's not wrong for us to have feelings of joy at hearing his death

But, when you refuse to do nude scenes, it really cuts down on what you can appear in"

"If the scene requires it, you know... there is a 'buzz' about this... I just want to clarify... I have no plans to do a nude scene, I have no intention to do a nude scene, I have made no definitive statement about doing a nude scene"

15. talkjing about how in 2000
Bush said he planned to regulate CO2

talking about the luxury of focusing on one issue and drivin it home and putting all of your passion into it

"The way to solve this crisis is to put the truth to the America people, and ask THEM to put the pressure on BOTH parties. That's why this movie is so important."

Jay gushing about the movie being fascinating...

Tlaking about the Montreal accord and how we are reversing CFC ozone layer depletion

Al saying the politicians at time took the lead, listened to the scientists, etc. "We need to do the same thing now with global warming. They said we couldn't solve that problem..."

20. Jya "What do you say to people who don't believe this is really happening?
"the debate is over"

"there is a pretence of a disagreement created by some of the biggest polluters... like what the tobacco companies did forty years ago"

"they intentionally try to confuse people"

Gore quoting Upton Sinclair: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something if his salary depends upon his not understanding it."

"You can kind of understand how some of these polluters... the use of distraction or hyperbole... but at some point they themselves have an obligation to solve this problem..."

Hay: "What if you're a good person in this business, what should you do to change this?"

Al: "A lot of companies are becoming carbon neutral, reducing as much CO2 as they can, and then investing in offsetting it elsewhere."

Al; names some companies who changed, including DuPont.

"Eighty five evangelical leaders recently called on Bush and Cheney to change their policy on this..."

24. Going into detail about CO2, atmosphere
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 11:18 PM by StellaBlue
Gore saying about we have the lowest standards of any country, even behind China.

"We want to be the good guy, naturally, as Americans, but we are now responsible for more of the global warming pollution than South America, Africa, and Asia put together, and the world is getting to the point where they are looking to us and asking when are we going to take a lead on this problem?"

Talking about airplane pollution and how it wasn't covered in the original Kyoto, but will be in the new treaty.

"In last 100 years we have quadrupled the population and multiplied our technology a million times over..."

Jay says, "I know you have to go, you've got to go be a BIG MOVIE STAR and walk the red carpet with Pamela Anderson or whatever..."

Al: "Jay, I'm old enough to know the red carpet is just a rug."

LOVE AL. :loveya:
