Prattville Family Still Bitter Over Losing Soldier In Iraq Despite Death Of Al-Qaida's Top Man

24 hours ago a bitter Tiffanie Pernell couldn't make sense of it all.

"He didn't know why he was over there. Our friends don't know why he was over there," Tiffanie Pernell said on Wednesday.

Since then nothing has changed. Pernell says she still feels the same way even though coalition forces killed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Al-Qaida's top man in Iraq, the same man military officials believe was responsible for the murders of innocent people by using car bombs.

Army Sgt. Carlos Pernell was a carpenter, building homes and schools when a bomb exploded nearby Tuesday night. He died 3 hours later on the operating table.

"I don't think just because he's (al-Zarqawi) dead the killin' gonna stop. Probably get worse. That was my husband's second tour over there and he didn't know why he was over there," Pernell said.

That is what it is all about.
