I feel bad, I turned Big Eddy off 2 days in a row
First he was railing on the dems. for not funding and getting a win for Busby and then today he was all happy about the Z man death and congratulating dubby again.
Like dubby has been making good moves.
:hurts:

1. it wasn't congratulating Dubya as much as glad Zarqawi is dead
I don't take this Zarqawi stuff seriously at all, but I don't fault Ed for doing so.

He was exactly right on his criticisms of the Dems though. I have hardly ever seen a commercial for a democratic candidate that didn't suck, which is inexcusable given the wealth of talent available to them in the entertainment industry. They pull their punches and use their tea party manners while the GOP acts like this is a cage fight to the death--and eventually they will take out the "like."

4. I usually like his show
and put up with some nonsense. But it has been about twice in the last week that he gave kudos to dubby.
I fail to see anything good in dubbymoves.
I'm not totally up on the Busby thing, but it was a republican district and the pukes never give up or give in. I fail to see how money is the only answer- it used to be the quality of the candidate. Just because the Dukester screwed up, the pukes will not give up his seat. All the money in the world won't change them.

18. under the current system, money matters. Busby got advice from the
national party, and I bet they told her not to hit the corruption angle too hard.

Every commercial should be like Paul Wellstone's last one:

"I don’t represent the big oil companies.

I don’t represent the big pharmaceutical companies.

I don’t represent the Enrons of this world.

But you know what? They already have great representation in Washington. It’s the rest of the people that need it.”

Democrats pull their punches. Republicans ask how far is too far, then go a step farther.

23. I agree with your perspective.
Yours, mine and Ed's perspective is more representative of the average Independent/Democrat voter in this country than many of the Ed haters here. I perceive hating Ed as hating having any power at all in this day and age. We cannot be wimps and expect to take power back from these ass-holes. When will we learn this lesson?

When?

2. Don't feel bad, I turn him off every day.. I try, but to me he's just..
Rush lite.. I feel he's Clear Channel's "throw the dog a bone to the liberals" guy.
He's only on the Clear Channel stations I believe.. and Randi can't stand the guy..
so that says it all for me.

Big Ed is not a true progressive....

5. Randi and him did well together a couple weeks ago
I wish they could all just get along and find the same songbook.
Big Eddy was right in that the pukeys win by taking 2 words and pounding it in to peoples' heads.

20. Ed is a good transitional object for recovering conservatives.
I had exactly the same reaction at first, and when he mouths the Dems line about election rigging not being a big deal I grind my teeth, but I could see someone turning on his show, thinking it's Rush, and then accidentally agreeing with him and keep listening.

26. Agree...when one considers that we had no radio media just a few years
ago...I'm thank for anything we now have. And Big Ed is the perfect foil to Limbaugh. I listen to him sometimes...and can see why some DU'ers have a problem with him...but for wavering Rush Ditto heads who just can't stomach the lies anymore...neither Randi, Hartmann or Frankin is going to inform them.

Big Ed is just what you said...a "transition" for recovering Conservatives...and he does a great job at the transition. I'm a way lefty but Al Frankin drives ME crazy...:D It's nice that there are different strokes for different folks out there on the Dem side. I wish there were even more..

27. Al Franken drives me crazy because he's halfway between honest and
the kind of mealy-mouthed crap democratic pols say, especially on Iraq.

The biggest problem I have with Ed and Al is that they sidestep why Bush went into Iraq, even though Randy, Janeane, Mike Malloy, and of course everyone at Pacifica has Greg Palast and others on who document the oil machinations.

Al even said once, "We didn't invade Iraq for WMD, or terrorists, we invaded for--" and then he paused a few seconds and said, "nothing."

I know he reads more than that, but he's holding back because he plans to run for office.

3. I did too
Edited on Fri Jun-09-06 12:24 AM by Botany
he is just an act ....

They way he went on and on about not seeing why an unknown, down ticket, underfunded,
African American, pro gay rights, women pulling in more votes than J. Kerry in rural conservative
counties was not that important in understanding OH 04 ....... ether stupid or playing dumb.

But he understands populism ..... he will very quickly reinvent himself if he thinks he is loosing support
for his biz. Because from the get go he has stated it is a biz ....... which is fine but I think Ed is just an act.
But that act can help us too.

Also I think he is good @ throwing red meat to the sharks to get em all wild and what not = ratings.

a great thinker or real liberal ..... i don't think so.

9. Big Ed doesn't pass the smell test....
Anyone who is not outraged by election fraud has a lot of explaining to do. That includes ALL of our electeds.

By the way, I laughed when I saw your post, because I've also turned him off two days in a row.
He's too transparent, I'm not buying it.

13. Glad I wasn't the only one
I thought was I was getting heat stroke.
His over excitedness had be hearing him in a different light.
His ego is so big, he will never understand us.

I still like him but he is accumulating bad marks.

10. I literally get out of bed in the middle of the night to turn Big Ed off.
I stream US talk radio all night (down under time)... Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, then "Big Ed" comes on. If I'm awake when his show is on, I get out of bed and switch the stream over the Randi Rhodes on Air America.

Big Ed is so full of Big Ed that I'd rather leave Big Ed to Big Ed.

15. I can hardly wait
:silly:
Actually Ed may go after her- he has no affection for her.

Just remembered another guest- he had on Tim Pawlenty- gov. of MN.
Pawlenty has been playing well as a centrist, but there was a tape of him railing on the dems. that would have rivaled ann the skanks harange.
One caller at least jumped eddy for wasting our air space with pukes.
:puke:

14. Did you hear the female caller complaining the estate tax?
Apparently, her grandfather owned a large farm and her parents had to liquidate it to pay the estate tax and were left with -- her words -- only $100,000.

So she's mad that her parents received "only" $100,000 for doing absolutely nothing? :wtf:

16. Don't remember the call
I wonder what the tax was on that estate? 20,000?

People seem to want to sink the country by paying few taxes and yet want to spend, spend, spend.

Sounds more like the latter - and if that's the case you have nothing to feel bad about.
